Revocation’s New Single “Sarcophagi of the Soul” is an Unrelenting Ripper

0

They promised you’d get a new track today and the bad motherfuckers in Revocation did not disappoint. It may just be the latest single from their forthcoming album New Gods, New Masters, but “Sarcophagi of the Soul” is exactly the sort of shit that should get both old and new fans losing their shit.

What I’m getting at there is that the riffs are still front and center, the rhythm is just as explosive as it’s always been, but it’s got this sort of technical flare that’s really shone over the more recent records. What else can I say? It’s fuckin’ badass.

Revocation frontman Dave Davidson had this to say about the track:

“‘Sarcophagi Of The Soul’ is about our addiction to technology, primarily our phones. We use these devices to create idealized avatars to present to the world, when in reality nothing is ever as perfect as it seems. As we continue to feed our vanity the lines start to blur between our identities and the false narratives we create as these digital twins slowly begin to usurp our lives. The music video for this track features the incredible artwork of Tony Guarladi-Brown who created an entire graphic novel as an accompaniment to the new album. The artwork for this comic book is truly amazing so we wanted to give our fans a sneak peak before it gets released alongside the record.”

So go ahead and hit play on the video below. It’s a ripper.
