Public Sales for 70000 Tons Of Metal Kicks Off Today
If you’ve ever wanted the opportunity to surround yourself with scores of like-minded metalheads on a multi-day cruise to the Bahamas, now’s your chance. At 12 p.m. ET, ticket sales for the general public will officially start for next year’s 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise — and they’re boasting a damn good lineup of bands that you might not want to miss out on.
Considered “the Original” floating metal festival, 70000 Tons Of Metal has been a hell of an experience every year. I mean, when you cram 60 bands on a single cruise ship with shows happening at all hours for four days, you gotta imagine it’s going to be a good time.
The cruise will launch from Miami, Florida on January 29, 2026 with its destination being Nassau, The Bahamas. Over the course of four days and nights, you’ll eventually get back to Miami on February 2, 2026.
This year, a major player in the thrash metal scene is joining the lineup, as the indelible Anthrax will be playing two special sets on the boat. As one of the “Big Four”, that’s one hell of a get for the cruise. So far, only 41 of the 60 bands slated to participate in the cruise have been announced. They are as follows:
- AMORPHIS
- ANTHRAX
- BEAST IN BLACK
- BLOODRED HOURGLASS
- DARKANE
- DARK TRANQUILLITY
- DØDHEIMSGARD
- DRAGONLAND
- DUST BOLT

Want to take some time away from the shows to have some other sort of fun? The cruise features a variety of side events like karaoke, various games, and other things to keep the excitement rolling.
It’s important to note that there’s an extremely limited amount of space on the boat, so demand is usually very fierce. We’re talking 10 consecutive sellouts since the cruise’s first voyage in 2011. Just 3,000 tickets exist and they always sell out, so if you’re serious about wanting to hop on a boat and enjoy the metal festivities, you absolutely should head over to the cruise’s website to jump on the chance.
