Soulfly Announce New Album ‘Chama’, Lead Single “Storm The Gates” Streaming Now
Iconic groove metal band Soulfly are back with a new record coming pretty damn soon and we’ve got new music right now, as a result. Titled Chama, the slate of 10 new songs from the Max Cavalera-fronted outfit will be released on October 24 via Nuclear Blast Records.
To get people hyped for the upcoming release, Soulfly dropped the album’s first single “Storm The Gates”. You can check it out wherever you stream music these days. As you can hear in the clip below, “Storm The Gates” is a no-bullshit kind of track that features a hard, rhythmic direct attack. It bounces with malice. It’s a headbang-able call to arms.
As for the album name itself, Max Cavalera explained what a “Chama” is, exactly:
“Chama is the Brazilian word for flame. It also means a ‘calling’. Respect to Alex Pereira for usjng ‘Itsari’ on his UFC walkouts. Chama is inspired by the energy of this moment This record is the sound of Soulfly’s fire! I cannot wait to play these songs live for the Tribe! Chama!”
