Mudvayne Guitarist Greg Tribbett to Miss Upcoming Tour to Mourn His Wife’s Death

0

Last night, Mudvayne hit the stage for the first stop on their L.D. 50 25th Anniversary tour. And while attendees at the Dubuque, Iowa gig were stoked to catch the nu-metal band live, one thing was immediately obvious — guitarist Greg Tribbett wasn’t there. As it turns out, he wouldn’t be joining them on tour because his wife had succumbed to her battle with cancer.

According to people close to the band, Tribbett’s wife Debbie had been diagnosed a year-and-a-half ago with angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer in the blood vessels. Mudvayne announced Tribbett’s impending absence from the tour just hours before last night’s show.

“Tour starts today! We are going to miss our brother Greg on this tour, sending him and his family all the love.”

News of Debbie Tribbett’s passing was first made public a couple days prior on September 7 by a Facebook fan community called the MudvayNe Mob. In their post, the group paid tribute to Debbie and her unwavering support of her husband and the band as a whole.

“She was fiercely supportive of Mudvayne and her loving husband Greg — always so proud. We miss you beautiful sweet friend more than words can say.”

Our deepest condolences go out to Greg and his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. If you’d like to support him and the rest of Mudvayne, you can catch one of their upcoming shows. The full list of dates can be found below.
