Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante Recorded a Track for Fighting Game ‘2XKO’

At this point, it should be pretty much common knowledge that metal and games go together extremely well. Just look at all the sports game soundtracks, Brutal Legend, Full Throttle… the list of games with metal in them is long. So as Riot Games, the makers of League of Legends, get closer to releasing their 2v2 fighting game 2XKO, the developers had one voice in mind — Spiritbox‘s Courtney LaPlante.

The track, titled “Ties That Bind”, is the cinematic theme for 2XKO. As such, it’s described as a “powerful and anthemic soundscape into an epic, soaring finale for players.” It will be made available to all streaming platforms on October 6 at 8 p.m. PT, 11 a.m. ET.

All of this is taking place ahead of the game’s early access release on PC on October 7, with the game’s arrival on the various consoles still uncertain.

We don’t know much more about the track than that. We do know is that this isn’t the first time a metal artist has contributed to 2XKO. Just last month, Polyphia shared their own theme music for the title.
