Oderus Versus Dave and Sherri

When I wrote Oderus Urungus’ entry into our list of The Top 25 Modern Metal Frontmen, I praised him for his total lack of bullshit.

I am only too pleased to report that today he has demonstrated this lack of bullshit beautifully.

First, there’s the following tweets about the title track from the new Megadeth album, Pooper Collider Super Collider:

I have yet to hear anyone say anything positive about this song, but still, Oderus always has a very special way with words that make his tweets just delightful.

He also had some kind words for Sherri Moon Zombie, a.k.a. Mrs. Rob Zombie:

This is a trickier subject in some regards. I wouldn’t say I’m sick of Sherri Moon Zombie, mostly because I feel like she’s not prevalent enough to warrant sickness (as opposed to, say, Five Finger Death Punch or, now that I think of it, Dave Mustaine).

That being said, as if there were any doubt, The Lords of Salem certainly provides ample proof that Mrs. Zombie is the beneficiary of nepotism. Does anyone doubt that the film would have done better at the box office had the lead on the poster been an actress of note? And for that matter… does anyone doubt that the movie would have been better overrall? (Well… slightly better. It’s a total failure on almost all levels, so even Meryl fucking Streep would only have been able to do so much to help it, y’know?) While she’s quite good at playing drunk and stoned, she can’t make any normal conversation sound natural to save her life. There’s a scene early in the film where she has to have some small talk with a neighbor, and never before have I heard lines like “How are you?” sound so forced. She can’t just play “human.” It’s as though she graduated from The Jack Donaghy School of Acting.

On the other hand, Rob Zombie films her in various states of undress for large portions of the movie, so she still ended up being the best thing about it. I guess it’s a trade off?

Weigh in on Oderus’ latest rants in the comments section below.
