Nine Inch Nails Cancel Inaugural Future Ruins Festival

0

Bummer and somewhat confusing news. Future Ruins, the new festival bred by Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, isn’t on the books anymore. It’s cancelled, and we don’t really know why.

Future Ruins was originally set to take place on November 8 at the Equestrian Center in Los Angeles. Its concept was honestly cool, meant to showcase composers of film and TV scores. The festival had some heavy hitters, like John Carpenter, Danny Elfman and, Reznor and Ross themselves among others.

A statement was released yesterday, October 4:

“Unfortunately Future Ruins will not move forward this year. The reality is, due to a number of logistical challenges and complications, we feel we cannot provide the experience that’s defined what this event was always intended to be. Rather than compromise, we’re choosing to re-think and re-evaluate. Meanwhile, we are sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate all the interest and support. Refunds will be automatically issued and ticket holders will receive an email with more information.”

It’s good refunds will be given, but what we’re all really wondering is if there’s a chance the festival will actually happen in the first place, at some later point in time. Guess we’ll see, but they will be continuing their Peel It Back tour with several dates in 2026.
