Former Sacred Reich Drummer Dave McClain Speaks Out About His Exit from the Band
Roughly a day after Sacred Reich announced they were splitting with long-time drummer Dave McClain, the exiting musician got a chance to say his piece and clear the air on the matter via social media, too. Having been with the group from 1991 to 1996 and then again from 2018 until earlier this week, he’s been an integral part of the band.
Still, from what he posted online, it sounds like the decision to leave was ultimately his. It also sounds like there’s no bad feelings about how things went down.
“Hey everyone!
As I’m sure you’ve heard, I’m no longer with Sacred Reich. Since rejoining in 2018 we made great music and had fun times together. I’ve decided to move on and I wish them all the best in the future! If you’ve been at a Sacred Reich show over the last 6 years, it was my pleasure to perform for you and to meet a lot of you.
Still 100% doing my thing, whether it’s touring, recording, teaching or just playing in my home studio.
Hope to see you all out there in the world again. Now back to my drum room!
Thanks, Dave”
As it stands, it’s unclear if McClain will be featured in the band’s forthcoming album. Sacred Reich also have a number of tour dates planned with Hatebreed. You can find those dates below.
