Spiritbox Take “Support Your Local” to the Next Level with Interactive Tour Map
Starting next month, Canadian metalcore outfit Spiritbox will be hitting stages all over North America for the second leg of their ‘Tsunami Sea Tour’ with Periphery and Honey Revenge in tow. It promises to be a great show just like the first half of the tour’s run was.
As with most tours out there, people from out of town are going to be flocking to the various venues, bringing more money and more attention to the region for a short time. That’s nice and all, but what if those people knew ahead of time of some great local establishments to eat, drink, and have a great time with the local fare before the show? That could be a huge benefit to the local community that’s more than just “oh shit, we just hosted one of the bigger modern metal acts on their tour!”
Thanks to the launch of an interactive map on their website, Spiritbox is hoping they can drive fans out to small and local businesses that deserve support. It’s a damn cool effort that really boils down to a group of Canadian entrepreneurs looking to pay it forward and help local business owners benefit from the influx of people.
“We made a map of local businesses you can support in our stops along the Tsunami Sea Tour. There are some great shops near each venue that we encourage you to check out for coffee, food, and more. Visit map.spiritbox.com for tickets to shows + local spots. If there are any businesses you think we should highlight along the tour stops, please let us know [in the comments].”
All you gotta do to take advantage of the map is click on one of the stops on their tour and right below the venue’s listing you’ll see a handful of small and local businesses to frequent. The band’s even asking fans to point out more local eateries and businesses to add to the lists.
This sort of shit is something I hope more bands adopt. Metal can be a force for community action and change for the better. All we gotta do is help each other succeed.
