Ex-Children of Bodom Members to Reunite for ‘A Celebration of Music’
This is exciting, and I type that non-sarcastically. It’s honestly a bit of a weird way to go about things, but this is the kind of reunion I can’t get behind. A few of the earliest members of Children of Bodom have decided to gather together to perform on special show together. The concert, which the band has chosen to call “A Celebration of Music,” will honor the impact they’ve had as a group while also paying tribute to their late vocalist and guitarist Alexi Laiho, who unfortunately passed away back in 2020.
Of the returning Finish death metal roster is guitarist and vocalist Alexander Kuoppala, bassist Henkka Seppälä, keyboardist Janne Wirman and drummer Jaska Raatikainen. Samy Elbanna (Lost Society) will be taking on Laiho’s position during the show.
The band released a collective statement on the reunion:
“We want to celebrate the life work of our band and at the same time the musical legacy of our friend and bandmate Alex. The gig will be played for Children of Bodom at an important Tavastia-club – and at the same time they will answer the fans’ long-standing wish.”
“A Celebration of Music” will take place February 26, 2026 at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki, Finland, with tickets going on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, October 29 at 09:00am local time. If you happen to find yourself in Finland, why not check it out?
