Devil Wears Prada’s Kyle Sipress Left Out of Songwriting Process, Forced to Learn Songs Afterward

0

Damn, not you being left and then being forced to make up for it. That can’t be a good feeling, as The Devil Wears Prada guitarist Kyle Sipress has expressed. Supposedly, he was left out of the songwriting process for the band’s upcoming album, and that’s really lame.

Sipress shared a video on his Instagram of him learning the track “Everybody Knows,” with the video caption reading: “Spent a few days learning some of the new songs from the new Prada record. This one’s called ‘Everybody Knows’.”

Fans were understandably confused, because why the hell wouldn’t they be? He’s been in the band since 2015, so does a decade of commitment mean nothing to them?! Sipress candidly responded to some fans’ concerns and comments with the following:

“I really appreciate that but it just is what it is. While it does make me sad and I wish I was a part of the creative side like I used to be, I do get to play guitar on stage for a living. Hopefully my ability to play live does the job this record calls for.”

“It’s pretty complicated but I think at the end of the day they had a vision and direction that was just easier and more conductive with me not being involved. Trying new things out and having less/different cooks in the kitchen.”

This is pretty wack, but if it’s for the reasons Sipress claims it is, then it makes sense how having “less/different cooks in the kitchen” might be beneficial in some way. Hopefully Sipress doesn’t get left out next time, because he seems like a pretty chill and talented dude.
