Sh*t That Comes Out Today: November 21, 2025

I’ll be honest – there’s not a whole lot going on this week in terms of new releases. That’s okay though, they can’t all be blockbuster weeks of new metal. Still, there’s some great stuff to check out.

Bloodbound

Field of Swords (Napalm Records)

Swedish power metal band Bloodbound are back with their latest release. With all their albums focusing on different eras of military history, this new one heads into the Middle Ages. Here’s their explanation: “As warfare evolves and the technological advancement of forging iron with carbon leads to superior swordsmen, the bloodstained battlefields show new, grim faces, which Bloodbound bring to life with their vivid storytelling.”

Depravity

Bestial Possession (Transcending Obscurity Records)

Old school death metal meets modern fury with the latest from this Australian export. This is their first release in five years, so I’d say this one’s been long overdue. If you like your death metal in the Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Deicide vein, this is for you.

Flesher

Gore on Gore (Maggot Stomp)

I normally don’t highlight EPs on this thing, but I’ll make an exception from time to time. This death metal threesome is putting up a six-track EP that continues their gore-drenched horror death metal stylings.

Morbikon

Lost Within The Astral Crypts (Tankcrimes)

This blackened death/thrash metal supergroup never disappoints, so if you enjoyed their previous releases, you’re going to like this one. For those that don’t know, this band is driven by the second wave of Scandinavian black metal and melodic death metal scenes of the ‘90s, which should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. Play this one loud and often.

The Halo Effect

We Are Shadows (Nuclear Blast)

It’s a covers EP where The Halo Effect cover songs from Danzig, W.A.S.P., Kent, Phenomena, and Broder Daniel. Chances are you already know whether you’re going to be into this just based on that single sentence alone.
