Myke “Puerto Rican Myke” Rivera (District 9, Skarhead) Passes Away

This is sad news, and definitely not what you want or expect to share on a day intended for family and gratitude. Unfortunately, Myke “Puerto Rican Myke” Rivera, famously known for his work in District 9 and Skarhead, has passed away, and that was the news his Skarhead bandmate Danny Diablo had to share yesterday, November 27, which was also Thanksgiving this year. Rivera was receiving hospice care for the last couple of weeks following a heart attack.

Diablo posted the following on Instagram:

I WOKE UP TODAY KNOWING THAT MY BROTHER

HAS LEFT OUR WORLD.

YOU HAD THE SAME BIRTHDAY AS I & WE ROCKED

IN THE SAME BAND FOR MANY OF YEARS.

YOU MADE EVERYONE LAUGH & EVERYONE

MAD AT THE SAME TIME.

YOU HAD A HEART OF GOLD THAT SHINED

& NOW YOU ARE GONE.

I’M GLAD THAT I SAID GOODBYE

& YOU MET BOTH OF MY SONS.

SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE MY BROTHER!!!

THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER
