John Bush Will Be Singin’ Anthrax and Fronting Armored Saint at Milwaukee Metal Fest
It’s gonna be a busy weekend at this year’s Milwaukee Metal Fest for Armored Saint/Category 7/ex-Anthrax frontman John Bush. Why, you ask? Because the dude’s not only going to be performing with his band Armored Saint on Saturday, June 6, but he’s also slated to perform a set of his Anthrax-era tunes the following day.
That news was among the latest batch of bands announced for this year’s Milwaukee Metalfest/Metal Fest/Metal Festival… however the fuck you want to say it. Already featuring headliners Acid Bath, Killswitch Engage, and Ministry, this year’s three-day event is shaping up to be a killer.
Festival co-organizer and Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta reacted to John Bush’s double duty as such:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome a true pioneer in the genre & one of the best voices in metal. The one & only John Bush! Catch him Saturday, June 6 with Armored Saint & again Sunday, June 7, performing his Anthrax era songs. These are must-see sets at MMF 2026!”

The weekend will be preceeded by a pre-game of sorts on Thursday, June 4 that’ll be hosted by Jasta and featuring special guests that have yet to be announced. Should be a good time though.
The Milwaukee Metal Fest will once again take place at The Rave/Eagles Ballroom from June 5 to 7, with a pre-party scheduled to take place on June 4.
