I didn’t attend either of Decibel‘s NYC anniversary shows this past Saturday night, because I’m lame. But I hear they were both killer, which isn’t surprising. I also hear that Amon Amarth vocalist Johann Hegg announced from the stage the line-up for the 2015 of the Decibel Magazine Tour: At the Gates, Converge, and Vallenfyre. Which, is, y’know. One “HOLY SHIT!” of a line-up.
In fact, every edition of the Decibel Magazine Tour has been a “HOLY SHIT!” of a line-up since its inception just a few years ago:
2012: Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood, In Solitude
2013: Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Immolation
2014: Carcass, The Black Dahlia Murder, Gorguts, Noisem
And that’s not even counting the regional openers.
My point is: Decibel has truly made this tour an event, on par with Summer Slaughter or any other annual package tour. Every year I’m all, “How are they gonna maintain their streak?”, and every year they bitchslap me for even questioning them. Watch, the 2016 version of the tour will feature, like, Faith No More, Jesu, and The Reanimated Corpse of Cliff Burton or something. Fuck.
Dates/more deets as soon as we get ’em. at the top of this post!
