Devin Townsend Posts Animated Video for “Why?”

Devin Townsend’s new video for “Why?,” from his recent masterpiece, Empath, is fantastic. The animated clip follows the story of a vaguely Devin-like character who grows bored of his monotonous, unrewarding life aboard some kind of massive interstellar spaceship, decides to take a risk by stepping out (literally) into the great unknown, and is rewarded handsomely in ways you’ll need to watch the video to find out. Dc Turner directed the clip, and you’ll be riveted from start to finish.

Devin has an acoustic show lined up in Singapore later this week, will perform at The Guitar Show in London next weekend, and then will take some time off before embarking on a European tour in November and December that will see him reinterpreting work from throughout his entire career (even including Strapping Young Lad).
