Sick Death Metal Alert: Berzerker Legion (Hypocrisy, Asphyx, Vader, Dark Funeral) Unveil “Obliterate the Weak”

Sometimes you need a swift kick of powerful, war-like melodic death metal to kick you in the ass, and by sometimes I mean always, and by always I mean right the fuck now: here’s “Obliterate the Weak” by Berzerker Legion, a supergroup of sorts that has just the right pedigree to do it.

Guitarists Tomas Elofsson (Hypocrisy) and Alwin Zuur (Asphyx) formed the band a few years back “with a vision to create death metal of the most belligerent quality,” then recruited James Stewart (Vader) on drums, Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath) on vocals and Fredrik Isaksson (Dark Funeral) on bass to help them realize that dream. Obliterate the Weak is their debut album and its title track the debut single, and based on this track alone I’d say Berzerker Legion are going to be 100% successful in their goal. Big riffs, a slammin’ mid-paced groove, tight playing all around, vocals bellowed and roared… in short, track RIIIIIIIPS!
