FROM THE TOO-GOOD-TO-BE-TRUE FILES: DREAM THEATER ANNOUNCE TOUR WITH OPETH, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, AND 3Back when Vince did an interview with Between the Buried and Me bassist Dan Briggs, the two of them spent so much time just splooging about about how much they love Dream Theater that at some point Vince didn’t even bother to transcribe the conversation; it was just two metal dorks dorking out.

So I can only imagine their collective excitement over the announcement of Dream Theater’s “Progressive Nation” package tour, which will team the prog masters with Opeth, 3, and, of course, BTBAM themselves.

I mean, fuck, I don’t even like Dream Theater that much (or even 3, though I guess what I’ve heard was pretty good) and I wanna go to this show. Opeth AND BTBAM AND Dream Theater? If they’d only add Tool and Mastodon and give away free weed with every ticket purchased, I’m pretty sure this would be the greatest tour of all time. As it stands, it’s still about as bonerific a package tour as there is. Seriously, I’m getting kind of aroused just sitting here typing about it; if my boss were to summon me to his office right now, I’d have to hold a book in front of my crotch lest he get the wrong idea.

No tour dates yet… stay tuned for more info.
