Silverstein Drop ‘Pink Moon;’ Share Lead Single “Negative Space”

Oh, Silverstein. One of my favorite post-hardcore scenie weenie bands who have managed to survive the mild death and now revival of that Myspace era. They released the first half their 12th album Antibloom earlier this year (along with one of its tracks “I Will Destroy This”), and they’ve just announced a little more info about its second half, titled Pink Moon.

Silverstein also shared the album’s lead single and accompanying music video. As the first glimpse of Pink Moon, “Negative Space” shows how the band have carried that unrelenting heaviness from the first half into its second part. Plus, the music video is supposed to be a sequel to the beloved “Don’t Let Me Get Too Low.”

Here’s what guitarist Marc Rousseau had to say about the single:

“I think the coolest thing about ‘Negative Space’ is how off-balance it makes me feel. It’s almost like it’s slightly too fast so it’s always trying to catch up to itself. That, combined with the fact that it’s always switching vibes and using contrasting tones makes for a really interesting three minutes.”

Vocalist Shane Told added:

“This song really has it all. Tons of energy, raw power, a big hook, and a massively heavy breakdown. I also love the lyrics and the photography imagery. On top of it, the video was super fun to make and I think might be our best video as well. So needless to say, I am SUPER excited for people to hear this one. The video is the companion piece and sequel to ‘Don’t Let Me Get Too Low’. The songs were written together over two days with our friend Jon Lundin (Point North) and it completes the story of myself playing a madman burying himself in the Las Vegas desert.”

Pink Moon is set to be released on September 12 and is available for pre-order and pre-save now.

Silverstein is still on the road across North America celebrating their almost 30 year run with the “25 Years of Noise” tour, supported by Real Friends, Broadside, and Greyhaven.
