Life of Agony to Celebrate 1995 Album with “30 Years of Ugly” Tour
It’s weird to think that 1995 was 30 years ago, but it turns out I’m old. Know what else is old? Life of Agony‘s 1995 album Ugly. To celebrate that album’s three decades, they’re going to play it in its entirety and heading out on tour throughout the U.S. and Europe later this year.
With the U.S. leg set to kick off on September 19 in Bensalem, Pennsylvania and coming to a close in Patchogue, New York, the band will take out special guests Jasta, with God Forbid showing up on certain dates. As for the European run, that will start on November 4 in Dornbirn, Austria and come to a close on November 20 in Drachten, Netherlands. Along the way, they’ll be taking Ugly Joe out as their guests.
Looking forward to the tour, vocalist Keith Caputo said they were excited to share in the excitement surrounding Ugly and its 30th anniversary with fans.
“I’m very excited to get back out on the road to play Ugly in its entirety and to share the stage with God Forbid, our boy Jasta, and our good buddies from Ugly Kid Joe — along with our special friend Whitfield Crane. I might even have to convince Whit to sing an L.O.A. song with us out there. That would be so cool. I’m looking forward to creating more incredible moments with L.O.A. and making memories with great people in killer bands. Come hang out with us for an unforgettable night of music and entertainment.”
Speaking of Ugly and its legacy within Life of Agony, guitarist Joey Zampella called that album the black sheep of the band’s discography.
“Everyone was expecting River Runs Red, Part 2, but Ugly was a left, right, and U-turn! People were like, ‘Okay, this is different?!’ It took some time to sink its hooks into our listeners, but when it did, it became a classic. I’m super excited to celebrate the ‘Ugly Duckling’ of the L.O.A. catalog!”
