Yob To Be Inducted to Oregon Music Hall of Fame

It may not be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or even the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame, but doom masters Yob are getting some well-deserved recognition this October when they get inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame.

The special recognition comes as the band is celebrating its 25th year as a group. The induction itself will take place during the 18th Annual Oregon Music Hall of Fame Induction and Concert at the Aladdin Theater in Portland, Oregon.

Speaking of the unique recognition, YOB founder Mick Scheidt called the announcement of their impending induction a “surreal” experience.

“Yob recorded our first demo in 1999, but the birth of the idea came in 1996. It was a passion project inspired by the love of heavy music. No future plans beyond that. Fast forward nearly 30 years to now being inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame, “surreal” as a description pales to the reality of it. Words fail. Gratitude does not. We’re sending endless gratitude to everyone who has supported us in any way.”
