Trivium Announce ‘Struck Dead’ EP, Release Kickass Track “Bury Me With My Screams”
The dudes in Trivium have apparently been busy as hell lately. Sure, they’ve been working on new music and yes, they’re seemingly on tour all the damn time, they’ve also been building a full studio in a space they call The Hangar. That construction is the backdrop for the music video they dropped today for their new single “Bury Met With My Screams,” which is one of the tracks on their newly announced EP Struck Dead.
Set for release on October 31, the EP features three new songs including today’s single, which was premiered on frontman Matt Heafy’s Chaos Hour show on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal.
According to bassist Paulo Gregoletto, a lot of the impetus for not just the new studio space, but really the Struck Dead EP itself came from that tour Trivium did with Bullet For My Valentine called ‘The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour’. You may recall that little world tour announcement as a way for the bands to celebrate the 20th anniversaries of Ascendancy and The Poison, but it was ultimately cut short.
“While construction was underway, we were deep in rehearsals for The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour, celebrating Ascendancy‘s 20th anniversary. What started as an idea to release one single during the tour quickly grew into two, then three, as we kept writing while we were waiting for the build-out to be completed.
“During that time, the energy of revisiting Ascendancy started bleeding into these new songs. Matt poured a lot of his personal struggles from the past year into the music, and we used the writing process as a cathartic release. Those sessions evolved into a three-song EP that we’re incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait to debut ‘Bury Me With My Screams’ live at Bloodstock Open Air Festival.”
