Dino Cazares Says Fear Factory’s First New Record Featuring Vocalist Milo Silvestro is Done

0

It’s been a long time coming, but it sounds like we’re getting closer and closer to a new Fear Factory album. It’s been roughly four years since the release of their 2021 album Aggression Continuum and after some lineup changes, we’re looking down the barrel of a new era for the band.

We all know the band’s got a new vocalist in Milo Silvestro and a new drummer in Pete Webber, so it’s anyone’s guess how the new tunes will sound. Will it be more of the same or will the new blood inject some fresh takes on the band’s sound? According to guitarist Dino Cazares, we should know for sure “in time for the summer festivals next year.”

During last week’s Bloodstock Open Air in the U.K., Cazares was asked about the state of the new album and how things have been going in Fear Factory. According to the 58-year-old guitarist, the new, as of yet unnamed record is fully tracked and will be mixed in September.

“Everybody wants to know. So the record will be out next year. We’re done tracking it. All that’s left now is to mix the record. We’re obviously on tour right now, so when we can get home later on this month, we’ll start mixing the album.”

As for whether or not he feels Silvestro is ready to take the helm of such an iconic industrial metal outfit, Cazares said he and the rest of the veterans in the band took the vocalist under their collective wing and showed him the ropes. As a result, he’s confident in Silvestro’s capabilities moving forward.

“We took him through rigorous training ’cause he was pretty much fresh off the boat. And so, everything from how he performs live on stage, how to handle the media, how to handle the criticism online. I pretty much taught him everything I knew to get through all this and to be prepared for what’s to come.”

Later this year, Fear Factory will head out on tour in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Demanufacture. That tour will travel across the U.S., with some of the headlining shows featuring the band playing through the entirety of the influential 1995 album.

That run of shows starts on September 12 in Flagstaff, Arizona and comes to a close on October 29 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. You can find the full list of dates below.
