Izegrim to Play Reunion Shows Aboard This Year’s 70000 Tons of Metal Cruise

0

Six years after officially calling it quits, Dutch death/thrash metal band Izegrim will once again hit the stage as a unit, only this time that stage will be floating on the Caribbean during this year’s 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise.

Founded in 1996, the band recorded five albums and toured all over the world with some massive names before disbanding in 2019. Now as a reunited entity, Izegrim will play two sets aboard Royal Caribbean’s luxury cruise ship Freedom of the Seas.

Speaking of their upcoming reunion shows, vocalist and bassist Marloes Voskuil said he and his bandmates were excited to hit the high seas once again.

“It’s been way too long since we last sailed the 70000TONS OF METAL — all the way back in 2014! What a ride that was: unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and even taking home the Cripper award. Now, in 2026, Izegrim is making its epic reunion, and we couldn’t be more excited! What better way to kick things off than on this legendary ship? We’re beyond thrilled and honored to be playing 700000TONS OF METAL again, and we can’t wait to reunite with the entire metal family aboard!”

Considered “the Original” floating metal festival, 70000 Tons Of Metal has been a hell of an experience every year. I mean, when you cram 60 bands on a single cruise ship with shows happening at all hours for four days, you gotta imagine it’s going to be a good time.

The cruise will launch from Miami, Florida on January 29, 2026 with its destination being Nassau, The Bahamas. Over the course of four days and nights, you’ll eventually get back to Miami on February 2, 2026.

So far, only 41 of the 60 bands slated to participate in the cruise have been announced. They are as follows:
