Ink & Dagger to Reissue Their Entire Catalog for the First Time Ever, Three Shows Announced
Philly may be known as the “City of Brotherly Love,” but for a brief moment in the late 90s, it was also known as the home of vampire punk outfit Ink & Dagger. Though they were only really around for a couple years, they managed to pop off with their unique blend of punk, hardcore, and psychedelia. Their chaotic shows were stuff of legend.
Now, 26 years after their disbandment, Ink & Dagger are reissuing their entire discography for the first time ever. Not only that, but they’ve planned three shows in their hometown of Philadelphia to turn back the clocks just a little bit.
Set to release this coming March via Trust Records, the band’s three LPs will get reissued digitally and in stores for the first time in some cases this Halloween. If you’re a hardcore fan and want something a little more premium, they’ll be releasing a special box set titled Ink & Dagger: The Complete Works, which will include a fourth LP titled Experiments in Nocturnal Sound and Energy: Singles 96-99.
For a more in-depth look at the reissues, the band provided tAccording to the band, the following reissues will come out next March:
- LP 1: Drive This Seven Inch Wooden Stake Through My Philadelphia Heart – Includes Ink & Dagger’s first two EPs and one bonus track. It’s the first time ever this collection is available on vinyl as it was originally released only as a CD in the 90s.
- LP 2: The Fine Art of Original Sin – Ink & Dagger’s first LP. Originally released in 1998, The Fine Art of Original Sin saw Ink & Dagger pushing the boundaries of genre into uncharted territory. A psychotic blend of punk, hardcore, electronica and full-throttled rock and roll, Fine Art showcased the Dagger at their absolute peak.
- LP 3: Ink & Dagger – Originally released posthumously on Buddyhead in 2000, this was the Ink & Dagger’s final form and statement, a murky, swirling, psychedelic soundscape that defied all category, a cryptic preview of a future that never came.
- LP 4: Experiments in Nocturnal Sound and Energy: Singles 96-99 – This LP will only be included in the physical box set and is a compilation of B sides, singles and splits. A sinister showcase of the band’s various modes and methods, exploring the furthest perimeters of structure and sound.
In addition to the reissues, the band has three shows set up in Philly. You can find those dates below.
