Furnace Fest Still Not Dead, Confirmed for 2026
It wasn’t too long ago — roughly two years ago, in fact — that organizers of the annual festival staged in Birmingham, Alabama known as Furnace Fest was on the brink of collapse. There were fears that waning ticket sales meant 2024 was the festival’s final iteration. That ended up not being the case, with the 2025 edition of the festival having taken place this past weekend and now organizers have come out and said they’re ready to do it all again next year.
In a post on the festival’s official Instagram page, organizers shared a cool looking admat promising that the show will return to Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark in Birmingham, Alabama. The post also promises that dates for next year’s event would be posted soon.
The perceptive among you may have also noticed that the roman numberals for 25 (XXV) and the promise of a “silver surprise” are featured on the posted image as well. For those that don’t know, the 25th anniversary of something is considered the “silver anniversary”, so I’d expect some exciting announcements ahead of next year’s event.
Recent Furnace Fests have seen reunion sets from the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza, while other acts have used the event to play some truly exciting sets over the years. So if I were a betting man, I’d think we’re in for some truly exciting acts signed onto the bill and some unexpected sets performed. After all, this year’s headliners were an eclectic mix of Knocked Loose, Dropkick Murphys, and Jimmy Eat World.
