Slipknot is “Cooking,” Eloy Casagrande Says New Music is Incoming
The time for new music from nu metal titans Slipknot is apparently approaching faster than we thought, as Eloy Casagrande reveals that the band’s “cooking” up some new tunes.
The revelation came during the drummer’s appearance on Drummer’s Review, during which he was asked about the prospect of some new material. We’ve known of past recording sessions featuring Casagrande behind the kit that happened almost immediately after he was hired, so there’s definitely material floating around. Only now, we know that more serious writing efforts are happening as we speak.
“What I can tell you right now is that we are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure. Yes, we are. Since I joined the band, we have been working on some new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs, drum beats, so we are always doing something.
“We had also some jam sessions. So we have a lot of material right now. We just have to sit and put everything together, start jamming, and it’s happening. It already happened. It’s gonna happen in the future. So new material is coming, for sure.”
There was a time last May in which we thought the release of a new song titled “Long May You Die” that featured Casagrande was imminent, but that’s yet to materialize anywhere in the wild. There’s been talk since then from guitarist Jim Root that the band wanted the next release to feature the “raw energy of how those first two records were recorded.” Which, if you re-listen to Slipknot’s debut album and the notoriously heavy Iowa, should excite the fuck out of you.
With all the chatter going on around Slipknot, and the fact that it’s been a couple years since their last release, it’s very likely we should anticipate a 2026 release for at least a new fucking track. Or maybe Look Outside Your Window, at least…
