0

In an incident that’s being described by the band as a “freak accident,” Disembodied Tyrant vocalist and guitarist Blake Mullens was injured and is unable to perform live in their upcoming tour. As a result, the band’s since chosen some stand-in vocalists.

According to a statement posted by the band last night, the accident in question resulted in Mullens being hospitalized and needing surgery. The procedure in question will require a “lengthy” recovery period.

“On Monday the 3rd, Blake was involved in a freak accident that resulted in significant injuries to multiple limbs, requiring emergency hospitalization and surgery. He is okay, but there will be no more details given in relation to the incident out of respect for his family.

“Due to this event and the lengthy recovery process involved, he is unfit to perform on DT’s upcoming US tour with Whitechapel. He is expected to recover in time for the band’s next tour in March.

“He does not want to the band to lose momentum or opportunities, so the tour will proceed as planned with @trevorteichert and @rynovail stepping in on vocals. The rest of the band will see you there with Whitechapel, Bodysnatcher, and AngelMaker.”

As a result of the accident, Winter’s Gate’s Trevor Teichert, LarcɆnia RoɆ’sRyan Vail of and Synestia will handle vocals for Disembodied Tyrant during their tour with Whitechapel, Bodysnatcher and AngelMaker.
