Anthrax Finish Mixing Work on Their Next Album

0

It’s taken a long time to get here, but thrash metal legends Anthrax have completed mixing their long overdue follow-up to their 2016 album For All Kings. Now begins the wait for more details and an initial single from the band is released.

News of the completion of this latest step came after Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante posted a Facebook story from Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, California, where the album was being mixed. In the post, pictured below, the band (without vocalist Joey Belladonna or guitarist Jon Donais) is seen with Grohl himself. In it, Benante commented on its completion, stating that the working album title is “hey, go fu** yourself”, calling it a “very New York Album.”

“You can grab a slice and walk around and listen to it while eating.”

Having grown up living around and working in the Big Apple, I gotta say — that speaks to me.

Rather than mix up the combination that landed them a Grammy with 2011’s Worship Music, the band retained producer Jay Ruston, who also worked on For All Kings. Today’s news is a welcome update, as it’s really felt like it’s been forever and a day since new Anthrax came out.

Here’s hoping we’ll hear more about this record very soon. I’ll have my pizza order ready.
