The Zenith Passage Release New Track “Fleshbound Reliquary”
For the first time since the release of their 2023 album Datalysium, The Zenith Passage have released a new track — and it’s serving as the first song featuring their new drummer Max Sepulveda. The track in question, titled “Fleshbound Reliquary”, is a punchy track full of stops and starts that highlight the band’s musical precision.
Speaking of the new track, vocalist Derek Rydquist said it speaks of a broken world.
“‘Fleshbound Reliquary’ depicts a world and existence where resources have been so ravaged that we are forced to look towards ourselves as the means of production for what comes next.”
With the concept in mind, guitarist Justin McKinney explained how those tight bunches of fits and starts within the song contribute to its epic and frenetic sound.
“Musically, the track features a series of tightly interlocked rhythmic motifs executed with laser precision, all within a traditional song structure. The piece is primarily in 3, culminating in a grand, climactic resolution of the main motif that transitions into a powerful 4 feel for an epic close.”
The Zenith Passage is currently out on tour with Entheos, Fallujah, and Tracheotomy. There are only a few dates left, so if you’re in the area and want to catch them live, you can do so at the dates listed below.
