PROG DORKS, START GETTING HORNY: DREAM THEATER TO TOUR WITH KING CRIMSON PROJEKT?
UPDATE, 1:52 pm: Yup, the band just announced a full tour. Dates after after the jump; original story follows.
The National in Richmond, Virgina, has announcedthat Dream Theater will play a headlining show there on July 12, with support coming from King Crimson Projekt, which features Tony Levin from DT side-outfit Liquid Tension Experiment and Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree. And this is significant because no U.S. Dream Theater tour has been announced, and, according to Pollstar, the band doesn’t have any other U.S. tours currently scheduled — or any dates which would conflict with that at The National.
In other words, it seems highly likely that The National has accidentally spilled the beans about a Dream Theater summer tour.
So, take it as a rumor for now — there’s always the possibility, however slight, that this is just a one-off show — but it seems like a safe bet that more dates will be announced soon. We’ll let you know when they are. Here are the tour dates:
