THE NEW (HED)P.E. ALBUM IS A STEAMING PILE OF DOG TURDS

(hed)p.e. insomniaAnd that would be a generous rating. Seriously, what publicist would actually send us this disc given our track record of trashing C-rate nu-metal bands? (Hed)p.e.’s new album Insomnia is full of exactly what you’d expect; simple nu-metal riffs, rapping, samples in between songs (seriously, who still does this?) and lyrics about smoking pot and doing bitches doggie-style (maybe even both at the same time; but honestly, I wasn’t listening too closely).

The gentlemen in (hed)p.e. might consider taking advice from this guy.

    Well, “Vince”, did you even fail to notice that HED PE IS A FUCKING PUNK BAND?!?

    Hed PE is talented, and one of the best punk bands out there today. Sure, they might experiment with metal influences, but so do Bad Brains – and you wouldn’t call BB anything other than a hardcore/reggae band. And Hed PE is not anything other than punk rock and hip-hop.

    Hed PE embodies the spirit of real rock and roll. They write lyrics about how people really feel. They have lyrics about the fun side of life–smoking pot and fucking sluts–but they also talk about real issues, too. What about “Atlantis A.D.” and “Suffa”? You completely ignored the lyrics where they talk about the war in Iraq and Bush?
