EVEN AXL ROSE’S LAWYERS CANNOT STOP THE NEW GN’R CHINESE DEMOCRACY LEAKS FROM PENETRATING

Thursday, June 19th, 2008 at 5:17pm by Vince Neilstein

axl roseSeemingly every five minutes there’s a new site popping up that’s willing to trade potential legal ramifications for a massive traffic surge by hosting the latest GN’R Chinese Democracy leaks. And just as quickly, the evil Internet goblins / Axl’s legal team are there to fire off cease and desists demanding they be taken down. Just take a look at the comments in our post yesterday — every “here’s the new link!!” comment is followed by a “fuck, that one’s down” shortly thereafter.

The latest site willing to throw their penis into the line of fire are our good friends at Nonelouder. So head on over there and have a listen to the nine new tracks before it’s too late!

Or just go on a torrent site or something. The Internet, it turns out, is pretty nifty. Or is this whole thing some sort of cleverly orchestrated ploy, complete with lawyers in tow, to orchestrate hype? I wouldn’t put it past ol’ wily Axl.

“penetrating” and “penis” all in one new story, alright!

  3. …and then our server went down! haha! hang tight folks, it’ll be back in a few. Thanks for the love guys!

  4. J cantrell says:

frakking server does anyone have the rapidshare links>

  5. Sammy says:

I hope I never hear anyone at Metalsucks EVER crack wise again about the lack of relevance of anyone. Ever again.

So much jizzing over a “band” who has not been as such in how many years? With a singer who truly tops all others as asshole of the century and has hundreds of times shit on his band’s legacy as well as shitting on his fans. And a band who truly has such a small catalogue of actually decent music.

    I don’t fucking get it.

  6. JD says:

it’s news whether you like it or not dude

  7. Ken M says:

axl > metal sucks poster “sammy”

  8. dudemandude says:

Am I the only one who thinks that Axl has proven that him and Izzy were the creative force behind GN’F'NR?

These songs aren’t amazing, but pretty decent AND 1 million times better than anything VR or the snakepit has ever written.

Slash is an awesome guitarist but NOT an awesome song writer.

  9. Sammy says:

I didn’t say it wasn’t news. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of those who throw the word “irrelevant” around.

  10. Sammy says:

Wow Ken M, that hurts. Exactly how long did it take you to come up with that well thought out rebuttal?

  11. Dude Manbro says:

If he doesn’t release this thing soon, everyone who wants it will already have it by the time he finally does. Then everyone will start wondering if & when he’s going to do some, you know, new material anytime soon. And the cycle will begin anew as everyone anxiously awaits the “CD” follow-up, “Tibetan Monarchy”, which should be due for release sometime in 2023.

  12. NuMallCore Pwns Yo Mama says:

“Tibetan Monarchy”. Please award two points for Dude Manbro. :)

I’m with Sammy… didn’t care for Guns in the 80s. Didn’t care in the 90s. Probably not going to care in the 00s.

  13. Joe says:

Why do I think this is a ploy from the Axl Rose camp? Listen, the guy has been working on this album for how long? And 9 tracks out of how many leak? People started to get impatient about the new Axl Rose album, and while they still remembered it, they lost some interest. Then all of a sudden, 9 tracks leak, people think they are awesome, and now they can’t wait for the album.

Good job Axl Rose. You just pulled off the greatest marketing ever.

  14. Joe says:

Ok, I totally didn’t read that last paragraph that Vince wrote. Not trying to copy you, I was just typing. My bad.

*shouts in an awkward voice.. YEAH PROG METAL and SLAYER

  15. SickSixSeth says:

Joe…i have to agree with you. When that first post was up a couple days ago I thought to myself “Holy shit, awesome…i actually forgot all about that” And GnR were my favorite back in the day when i was 10 yrs old. I was pretty pumped to hear the tracks.
Although I realized it was not really guns n’ roses even if that is the name the track is under. It’s axl and a bunch of other dudes. Made it wierd to listen too with that in the back of mind.

  16. D. Ragsein Good says:

Actually these songs are pretty decent, the bluesy and punk side that both Slash and Duff added is gone, but the tracks still have that Axl attitude.

By the way I just finished reading SLASH, written by the man himself and Anthony Bozza and I reccomend it, I really enjoyed it.

    Have a good weekend

  17. Benny says:

I dig the leaks TWAT/Madagascar/The Blues are amazing stuff and the unknown song is pretty much “the balls”. Those four show why Axl is brilliant and why the new lineup is worthy of the name Guns N’ Roses

The other stuff needs a little bit of work. When I saw them in 2006, it was much much better.

But then again these demos are from 2002 and quite old. Can’t wait to hear the final product with the 2006/2007 Axl vocals on them.

If people are saying that these leaks are “awesome 10/10″ to “pretty good 8/10″ to “better than VR 7/10″ then that speaks volumes for the final product. Shit will be incredible.

The trouble is, when is it coming out?

  18. Extol says:

Yes, it is a marketing ploy….it is also Axel’s lawyer’s doing this behind everyones back so they can sue..wow, now lawyers make money off cd’s, go figure.

The lawyers or the record companies do the leaks puposly to make even more money via lawsuits and marketing. Its always been this way….I just feel for the poor 11yr old kid getting sued by the clueless RIAA.
