Even if you hate Trivium, I defy you watch their video for “In the Throes of Perdition” with the sound off and not think it’s pretty awesome.

glad to be first to comment! before all the hate goes in!#
Trivium are and awesome band, okay maybe the crusade wasn’t all that but it stood out from the pack as something alot of ppl think is shitty (like the common view of metal must so its a very metal album i think)
Shogun was a real masterpiece a new direction something really different and its just FUCKIN METUL
Also trivium are an incredibly had workin band i have seen them live 3 times in the space of two years – just to put that into context i like in WALES in the UK so alot of band don’t play here, or maybe they onyl play the larger cities

ANYWAY CREDIT TO TRVIUM YOU GUYS OWN AS OF NOW ALL THE HATERS ARE ELITIST COCKS AND OPINIONS ARE UNFOUNDED
    \m/_

  2. Joe says:

When a vocalist sounds like he/she is in dire need of a lozenge, it’s not very brutal. Seriously, this guy is making the Youtube armchair gurglers look like masters of their craft.

Also, you need Dawson’s Creek characters to step in to defend you?

  3. Kye says:

Yea, this song is pretty badass. I really do enjoy Trivium.

And holy fuck this video is wicked.

  4. Treefiddy says:

about time they stopped using the Dean ML’s. but Matt Heafy is still a major faggot.

  5. wata says:

    Holy budget, Batman.

  6. Ryd1ZZ says:

Joe, I’m pretty sure you just admitted you know the names of the characters in dawson’s creek, THAT, is not brutal at all. Actually, it’s gay.

I bet the dude you criticize, Matt heafy, doesn’t watch that shit stain show.

  7. Iron Mayden says:

This video kicks ass. Shogun kicks ass. Trivium kick ass. Sorry if it’s not BROOOOOOTALLLLL enough. Fuck the haters.

  8. Sammy says:

Great song, great album. The video is, well, a video. Someday somebody will have the balls to shoot a video that doesn’t have one millisecond frames.

  9. AnusApache says:

does that guy in chains make anybody else think of Megadeth?

  10. Alex Haskett says:

id hardly describe that video as epic…oh and thanks for having it play automatically, i had this page loading uo in the background as i was doing something and was therefore subjected to triviums awefulness.

  11. fantasyh says:

Cool video, but why aren’t they using their Dean signatures. I’d think that would be written in to the contract, but I see a Jackson and a Gibson in this video

  12. crapmcpoopin says:

Best part about it was that it wasn’t by that taint fuck David Brodsky that you guys blow all the time.

  13. goatlady says:

I wasn’t a Trivium fan at all but Shogun is pretty good and yes, this video is badass. They may be turning me…

  14. vitruvianApe says:

Im at work so I had to watch it with the sound off, and from what I gathered the old guy from underworld is really the lead singer of trivium, the glowing stone lady needs to rake her backyard. . . . and the ghost of christmas past really wants his chains back

  15. Steven says:

I thought it was a pretty good song and cool video. But, is the dude in the chains the same one from the Pull Harder on the string of your Martyr video?

  16. GREGDOUT says:

that was intense. been supporting trivium since ascendancy days they fuckin rock.

  17. vegard says:

wanna put autoplaying videos after the jump please?:)

it’s so irritating to have to scroll down and stop it every time i visit the site

  18. GREGDOUT says:

“wanna put autoplaying videos after the jump please?:)

it’s so irritating to have to scroll down and stop it every time i visit the site”

I could be wrong on this, but I believe that is your myspace settings doing the auto-play. I have mine set to not auto-play videos and the videos through myspace that are posted on this site don’t auto-play either.

  19. Anthony says:

I didn’t like Trivium at all — until Shogun, anyway. That album is epic. Their back catalogue plain sucks, however.

  20. Dr Tizzle says:

    fucking autoplay!

great video, not so great music

  21. vegard says:

    GREGDOUT, thanks for the tip!

  22. Nick says:

admittedly, the video is pretty cool. Trivium is still gay though.

  23. CJ says:

Well, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. It doesn’t suck. Well done Trivium.

  24. logs/faskings says:

CREED AND NICKELBACK ARE MUCH BETTER. DEATH PUKE METAL SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE TAKING A SHIT. SATANIC METAL IS EVEN WORSE – THESE FAGGOTS CAN ONLY SING ABOUT SATAN (YES HE’S A FUCKING IDIOT TOO) I BET THEIR LYRICS WOULD CHANGE IN A HOT MINUTE IF SATAN (OR AS I LIKE TO CALL HIM ‘SHITSTAIN’) STUCK HIS DICK UP THEIR ASS. WHAT A BUNCH OF NO TALENTED STALEPOOTS. HOCKEYFIED. LOGS/FASKINGS.

  25. arhh says:

Fuck trivium these guys are a bunch of cock wizards, and that fucking annoying video plays every time you come on this website.

  26. logs/faskings says:

    TRIVIUM = HOCKEYSTAINS. LOGS/FASKINGS

  27. Aaron says:

The problem with Trivium definitely isn’t the guitarwork, it’s the vocals. Listening to this song made me realize that Heafy has a very arrogant tone in his clean singing – I don’t think this was present in older material. Take for example “stick it with the rest of them” pronounced as “steek it with the rest of them” – what kind of knob sings like that?

  28. moremetalthantheterminatorspenisattatchment says:

God, Heafy’s voice just grates. Regardless of how intricate or incredible they could try and make their music, with vocals like that, they will get absolutely nowhere.

Popularity is apparently not necessarily an indication of quality. I think I’ll stick to the underground thanks.

  29. groverXIII says:

All the hatred that these guys get is amusing. I mean, I know that everyone has their opinions, but heaven forbid someone like something that you don’t.

That said, I liked the new album, and I liked their other stuff too. I feel that the newest album was probably the truest album that they’ve done… they brought back the screaming and have moved beyond completely ripping off Metallica.

The video was kinda cheesy, like most metal videos… but in a good way.
