GUITAR HERO: METALLICA IS GONNA BE REALLY, REALLY HARD
Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 at 2:00pm by Axl RosenbergI haven’t touched any edition of Guitar Hero in ages, but this clip of some people playing along with Slayer’s “War Ensemble” is enough to get me juiced again – in fact, I’m almost sad that there’ll never be a Guitar Hero: Slayer. Still, this looks like a fun way to pass a lazy, strung-out afternoon with some of the MS Mansion monkeys…

Guitar Hero: Slayer would be hilarious…once you mastered one song you could just repeat the EXACT SAME buttons on any other song and win every time! If you call that winning…
wow… just play real instruments….
I -REALLY- hate it when people have fun playing games. I just hate it.
Can’t wait for this. real instruments are for fags
fuck metallica. fuck guitar hero. fuck rock band .fuck me. fuck you.
First of all I’m a huge pussy and I love Rock Band. The other thing is look at the drummer? Sit him in front of a real kit and make him play that, guess what he’s really drumming. The singer is really singing. I mean seriously playing on expert like that those two are pretty close to the real thing. I’ve never seen a 1 string 5-fret guitar before but if one gets made all of these guitar-hero fags will cream their pants since they’re already experts too.
I guess Rock Band/ Guitar Hero is quite a novel idea, but the amount of time people spend playing these games, they could get good at playing an ACTUAL INSTRUMENT!
SonOF: so I’m not allowed to do both then?
I can only imagine how the few press people there felt that morning when they were told, “Hey, you’re heading over to watch guys play plastic instruments in front of a TV screen.” Woo-hoo! All those years of attending the Columbia School of Journalism are finally paying off.
Frthermore, it looks as if the whole “plastic guitar” genre may be fading somewhat according to The Hollywood Reporter.
My friends don’t listen to alot of metal, so I was super excited when I was asked to pick some of “my” music for Rock Band 2. Abnormality’s ‘Visions’ and Evile’s ‘Thrasher’ are the most fun Rock Band songs I’ve ever played. And my nerdy video game buddies get slayed on these. hah
I like how the play-a-real-instrument argument is fading away. Mainly since the drums and vocals are extremely accurate to the real thing.
I do both! I have played guitar for about a decade and absolutley love guitar hero! Its just fun to play…plain and simple! Not as fun as actually playing in my band, but for relaxing and playing a video game, its cool! Plus, who doesn’t like playing covers and you can’t always jam, especially at midnight! My only complaint would be to make the drums sit like actual drums…Hi Hats, Snare, Toms, Symbols….Obviously there are electronic drum sets that are setup like real sets, I dont see why this one can’t be!
