BISON B.C., YOU MADE MY KNEES QUAKE!
Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 3:17pm by Vince NeilsteinSo I was thinking back to the CMJ Music Marathon here in NYC last fall, and how Bison B.C. seemed to be the “buzz” metal band on everyone’s tongue. If you were there to see them you witnessed something awesome, and if you weren’t there you heard about it from everyone else and felt like a dipshit because you missed it. At the Scion Rock Fest last month in Atlanta the buzz bands were Krallice and Salome, depending on who you asked (there were, after all, four stages running simultaneously). So who’s it gonna be at this year’s SXSW? My bets are on any one of the awesome bands on The End Records / MetalSucks showcase, but your guesses are as good as any.
Here’s a live video of Bison B.C. performing in their native Vancouver. What are the shows you absolutely must see at this year’s hoedown in Austin?

I had a change to see Bison b.c. at a really small venue near me. It’s literally a living room in a house turned into a venue. (Bar’s in the kitchen) But I missed it. Like a douche.
Seeing this video makes me feel even worse. Fuck.
and I can’t spell. I had a CHANCE, not change.
You let DOPE buy advertising on the site?
Freakin Sell-Outs. Pay your bills by getting a second job not by selling ad space to Retarded Wannabe Monkeys
@ Urban Outdoorsman: selling out would be if they bought ads on our site and we proceeded to say how great they are, which is pretty much the opposite of what’s happened (example: http://www.metalsucks.net/?s=dope. selling ad space to them as is just makes us smart.
One of the sickest live acts I’ve seen. The smaller the venue the better. Proud that they call Vancouver home.
I saw Bison (before they added the BC) open for Three in a bar smaller than your local McDonalds. I think that the similarity to Mastodon extends past the name; but they did tear that place up. I’ll catch them again.
The Canadian version of Mastodon. Not my cup of tea. They are too similar to Mastodon.
