FINALLY, A GOJIRA HEADLINING TOUR!

gorilla-whaleI’ve been dying to see Gojira do a full headlining set for a long time now, but said desire increased a hundred fold after I watched them pretty much blow In Flames off the stage back in December. Seriously: anyone who says the French are weaklings has never seen this band live. Because they will crush you. Crush your balls.

So. Looks like I’ll get my chance to see Gojira play for at least an hour this spring, when they’re doing a headlining trek with The Chariot and Car Bomb as support. I’m honestly not that familiar with The Chariot’s music, but I do know that Norma Jean started their descent into being the world’s most boring band after Josh Scogin left the fold; and Car Bomb are the tits. And even if you don’t like either of those bands, well, have I mention that FUCKING GOJIRA WILL CRUSH YOUR FUCKING BALLS?!?

    Got my tixs this morning for the Key Club. I’ve seen this guys open up 3 times for others this will be a nice change. Hope they gives us at least an 1 1/2 or 2 hour set.

    The Chariot is ok, Car Bomb is sick, and Gojira sucks but in the way that metal sucks

    Great news! Just got into Centralia recently. Probably the most original Meshuggah worship I ever done heard. And to think, I thought that the end of May was ruined when I decided that Maryland Death Fest was too far away? In one month, Los Angeles gets Kreator/Exodus, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Eyehategod/Rotten Sound at the Murderfest, Opeth/Enslaved, Gojira/Car Bomb and frickin’ MORBID ANGEL. Los Angeles wins!

    Finally Gojira gets a headlining gig in the States! This news just made my day. Now I just have to decide how far I want to drive. Toronto is the closest to me but a DWI years back makes that a no go. A long weekend in NYC doesn’t sound bad though.

    Ugh, damnit…Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago is terrible…the sound is absolutely awful…its a godamn basketball court with a stage at one end.

    I just want to point out to everyone that The Chariot are a band I was looking forward to seeing on Sounds of the Underground 06, being a fan of old Norma Jean.And they also happen to be somewhere in the Top 5 on the list of the worst bands I have ever seen live.Josh was throwing himself around on stage in a manner that made my lady and I swear the dude just did a 10 foot line of blow.He was like Scott Stapp bad.Very disappointing.

    Carbomb are a band I’ve been wanting to see live since one of their members handed me a sampler outside a Meshuggah show a few years back before they got signed.They should do very well at getting people psyched for Gojira.And we don’t need words to describe how wonderful a full Gojira set will be.
