Dimebag Darrell’s Grave Desecrated and Robbed by Shitty Local Band
Update, 7:17 p.m.: Nuclear Hellfrost have released a statement regarding the incident. You can read that here. Original story follows below.
The following post appeared on Pantera’s official Facebook page about an hour ago, announcing that Dimebag Darrell’s grave was desecrated and robbed last night:
To call this an outrage doesn’t even begin to describe it. There are all sorts of ways to express anger and hatred towards a band starting with oh, I don’t know, writing rageful posts on the Internet. But desecrating a grave is beyond disrespectful, mostly to the family and friends of the deceased.
It is also completely idiotic: the Tumblr page on which the post appears seems to have been deleted, but anyone who would post about a crime on a PUBLIC SOCIAL NETWORK and then openly claim responsibility for it clearly doesn’t understand how the law or the Internet work. We expect the perpetrator(s) will get what’s coming to them in short order.
Various sources are telling MetalSucks that the band Nuclear Hellfrost is claiming responsibility for the vandalization, although we have not been able to independently verify those rumors. Encyclopedia Metallum lists the band’s members as Andy Sanchez, Karl Rast, Mike (no last name listed), Ryan G. (full last name not given) and Reece (no last name given). Needless to say, this band’s career is over.
We are not ruling out the possibility that this entire thing is a hoax drummed up by Nuclear Hellfrost to gain publicity. Those with any information on the situation should reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Below, some photos of Dimebag’s grave in better times.
