We love Nachtmystium ’round these parts, so when a press release arrived via pneumatic tube at the MS Mansion today announcing that Nachtmystium have a new EP coming out on May 5th we were surprised, though most certainly elated. Seems quite soon, having released the colossally awesome Assassins: Black Meddle Part 1 not even a year ago. Naturally one would be inclined to think that the four songs comprising the Doomsday Derelicts EP are b-sides… but apparently the band is just that prolific, having recorded these tracks a good 6 months after the Assassins sessions. Whatever they are, we’re happy to take ‘em.

Apparently the band has struck a deal with their label Century Media allowing them to release this EP on their self-owned Battle Kommand Records, so red tape is at an absolute minimum and they’re getting this puppy out the door right quick — the press release, sent today, says “The CD will be at press shortly and we anticipate a release date of May 5th, 2009.” The release will be limited, and a mail-order only version will have additional items.

So there you have it. New Nachtmystium music in 2009! Right around the corner.  Buy it at their official store when it’s ready. Psyched.
