THE 51ST REASON I LOVE PIG DESTROYER

Thanks to all the commenters who pointed out that I left a ridiculously awesome to worship at the alter of Pig Destroyer off of my list yesterday: this below video.

In case you’ve never seen it, the short version is that vocalist J.R. Hayes’ mic died in the middle of a performance at CBGB, so the dude just keeps yelling… and is so loud he can still be heard over the music. That seriously might be the single most metal thing that has ever happened in the history of time and space.

Holy shit, do I fucking love this band.

    I find it funny, Pig Destroyer are written about very often in magazines, websites, and reviews, yet people are always saying they have never even heard of them. I say all three of their records are needed in any metal heads collection and I really wish I wasnt working Friday night.

    I thought it was cool of the audience to be quiet until the song was done. He was clearly not using a mic…if the audience was cheering it might have nullified the awesomeness of his voice.

    They did go balls out when the song was done, so clearly they appreciated it.
