WELL, AT LEAST SOMEONE FROM GOD FORBID WILL GET TO PLAY WITH METALLICA

It’s no secret that pretty much every band in metal wants to open for Metallica, even if that band’s best days are behind them – and God Forbid are no exception. Since we consider GF like family around the mansion, seeing them fulfill one of their ambitions and get to open for ‘Tallica would be pretty swell.

For better or worse, for right now we’re going to have to settle for Doc Coyle opening for Metallica.

No, Doc isn’t going solo. He’s just filling in for Lamb of God’s Mark Morton, who will be at home with his wife and new baby. Unearth’s Buz McGrath had previously subbed for Morton.

Actually, this almost makes me wanna go to this next Metallica tour; not just to see Doc kill it in front of a Metallica crowd, but also to hear him play Morton’s leads. I bet he makes that shit sound pretty killer.

    Actually it is. In other news, God Forbid put on the best show at Mayhem Fest this year (and that’s not coming from me, the self-proclaimed GF fan, but from a good friend of mine who knows very little about metal from that tour except for slayer and all that remains).

    I’ll be going to this tour. Personally, as good as I think he is, he’s not nearly half as good as Morton.

    Wish they were coming through Phoenix, I’d go see this. I would seriously doubt Lamb of God would ask him to play if he couldn’t handle the part. It’s not like this is some sort of media insider news that Lamb of God doesn’t know about. He isn’t going to show up on the first day of the tour and be like “surpise, I can’t play worth a shit but here’s your scab guitarist!”
