Luckily for them, the song “Down with the Sun” is so fucking EPIC that it soars about the totally intimate black and white video that has been made for it.
“Down with the Sun” comes off of Insomnium’s fucking EPIC new album, Across the Dark, which Candlelight will release on September 8.

This band sounds a like a lot of bands that came out in the early 2000’s, but with good songs. That’s awesome, it reminds me of how excited I used to get about music like this.
Almost exactly what I was thinking. I remember being excited about a new Arch Enemy album. I believe it was Burning Bridges.
The guitar melody before the choruses reminds me a bit of U2’s The Edge’s playing.
VERY cool song!
Saw them at Bloodstock, didnt really capture my attention at all, perhaps it was because they were playing at 1 in the afternoon, but still unconvinced.
I can’t get enough of these guys. New album is going to be great!
Insomnium are incredible, Above The Weeping World was my rainy day album since the day it came out.
Across the Dark is incredible, it’s very uptempo in comparison.Against The Stream is a very fast song in the beginning, but it ends with some amazing piano.
Really pissed I missed them with Katatonia a while back.
Christ, that would have been an awesome show!! I’d be more than pissed if I missed that show.
I think the whole tour was Katatonia, Insomnium, Scar Symmetry, Into Eternity.
I think the closest those fuckers came to me was San Francisco, which is 2 hours away, which is usually no big deal except for the fact that it was mid week and I was pulling night shifts.
Ahhh, that sucks. I hate when work gets in the way of awesome shows.
It wasn’t Into Eternity, it was Swallow the Sun which means you should be more pissed you missed it. Not because Into Eternity sucks, far from it. Rather because Swallow the Sun fit perfectly in the bill. I saw the show in Mokena and it was awesome as shit.
I’m upset I missed that concert not. And, I didn’t even know where the hell it was.

Above the Weeping World is one of my favorite albums of all time. Across the Dark won’t fail to impress
Dark Tranquillity by the book. That’s not a bad thing.
I double-checked the release date since Candlelight, so far this year, has pushed back nearly every album two weeks from their originally-announced dates (eg: 1349 and Anaal Nathrakh).
Amazon has it listed as September 22 with an “original” release date of September 8.

The song is pretty epic and the video’s good too. I don’t see the problem with the video. I think it complements the song well and doesn’t distract from the music while being just a little artsy. Not gay artsy, just artsy and cool enough to hold my interest.

Great album, awesome melodic metal. While I will say that some of ziltoid’s more obscure bands were definitely a great listen, some more well known are well known for a reason.
Insomnium are definitely a self made band, they earned their title in the melodeath pantheon one song at a time
