YET ANOTHER REASON TO WORSHIP MUSE

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 at 1:30pm by Axl Rosenberg

Muse are one of the best active bands on the planet, and their new album, The Resistance, is one of the best of the year. Period.

The band’s music would make them awesome enough, but apparently they’re righteous dudes, too. To wit: according to the Telegraph, when the band was recently ordered to mime a performance of their single, “Uprising,” for an appearance on an Italian talk show, front man Matt Bellamy and drummer Dominic Howard responded by switching positions. Watch the hilarious video below: Bellamy clearly can’t play the drums, isn’t playing the drums, and is having a lot of fun pointing out the bullshit lip syncing (the most egregious example comes around the 3:14 mark).

Awesome. Totally awesome.

The Resistance is in stores now. You should purchase a copy.

Eerily enough i look to this site in salvation from my shitty post in life and indeed, you post about muse. Fucking Muse.

    • Urban Outdoorsman says:

You fucking retards blow my mind with all the hate. Art is art, and these guys excel at what they do. Have any of you snaggle toothed knuckleheads even seen these guys live, let alone listened to more than two of their songs? The shit is incredible. Period. Fuck, if any of you meatballs actually brought an informed musical opinion to the table it might be worth the argument but the vast majority decide to go with “Quit sucking their dick!” and “These guys suck!” Same shit different post. Different is not equal to shit. Youre uninformed opinion is whats equal to shit. Do you think we would take anyone serious if they called Jeopardy a shitty show because the contestants dont yell at each other and eat bugs? No, we would call them a fucking nOOb because its too completely different genres of gameshow. Fuck, I actually think Jeopardy is better than Survivor. I know what youre thinking “Quit sucking Trebeks dick. Survivor is brOOOOtal. You dont see Jeopardy contestants answering questions in a jungle do you? Jeopardy is for pussies.” Well I would have to agree with the point that Jeopardy contestants arent hairy, rain soaked, dirty trampos at the end of the show but at least theyre dry and odor free.

The advertisers called, you can take their dick out of your mouth now.

  3. Damien L. says:

    This is awesome, love it.

    • Urban Outdoorsman says:

      Airheads..Anyone?

Chazz: For all you care, our record could be Pip farting on a snare drum.
Pip: I ain’t fartin’ on no snare drum.

  4. Aleezy says:

They really go to town with it: no instruments or mics are plugged in either. The amps are switched around. Bassist “singing” lead. In response to flak you’ll get about this, well, it’s clear you’re not just posting any old non-metal news. I’m always entertained when I come to MS and the posts always feel relevant.

  5. Matty O'Shea says:

All 3 of them switched it up. The bassist has the guitar/keys/vocals, and the drummer has the bass.

    • grobi wunder says:

and he’s even talking about “our drummer, Matt” before he’s being drowned in italian…
this reminds me of the only time Nirvana’ve been even a bit enjoyable… that TotP-thing, half-playback, where Cobain sounds like fucking Andrew Eldritch.

  6. Kyle says:

I didn’t find this terribly amusing, and, despite however they behaved during the performance, these hipsters still agreed to lip-sync one of their own songs. Two thumbs down.

  7. Been done before, but still funny.

  8. John says:

The maiden one where they did that was funnier

  9. Kevin M says:

Iron Maiden already did this, and were a lot more amusing. Muse sucks. They’re the type of band people that think they listen to good, “hip” music like, but in reality they listen to shit bands.

  10. nairbs says:

Because of this video I am now going to go buy their new cd.. haha

  11. Zoker says:

This TV program sucks balls like every TV program here in Italy. I respect them for this insulting performance… the “interview” at the end of the video is just awesome! It’s shame that you guys (the most part of you I guess) can’t understand the questions and hear the answers…

  12. Got the new album and I am a bit disappointed. It is a lot less of a rock album, lots more electronics, keyboards and beats. Don’t get me wrong it is still a great album, I just expected more rocking and more shredding.

    Oh well

  13. Jon says:

    That chick is hot.

  14. Brian \m/(-_-)\m/ says:

reminds me of the Dream Theater/Nightmare Cinema thing back in the early days…except they were good at playing each others instruments…

  15. Sven says:

A little bit disappointed with the new album too. I like it, it it feels kinda incomplete, like it needed two more rock songs to balance the piano/orchestra heavy second half. It’s like a film score for a movie without a climax. It just serves to make the wait for the next album that much more excruciating, and it’s not enough to tide me over for the next 2-3 years for them to put out a new one.

  16. B-dizzle says:

Wow, I didn’t realize so many posters had terrible fucking taste. Muse fucking rules, better than Between the Boring and Me.

Also, Kyles stupid. Maybe you don’t understand that they switched up the instruments to demonstrate to the talk show how stupid lip-syncing is.

  17. dlux says:

    haha this is awesome

  18. Tim says:

That was a cool move, but that song was terrible.

  19. Carter says:

This is not metal, i dunno why you guys do this.
Plus stop sucking their dicks. I likem too but jesus christ

  20. This Shit Sucks says:

Kyle should probably form his own band, get international exposure, and say no to all of it because he’s “too metal” for that. Eat shit.

  21. Alphonso says:

I listened to the whole album because I loved their last two so damn much, but this one is basically the unrelesed Queen album. Some will say it’s Muse’s ‘coming out’ album, the one where they finally made an album solely of their sound and design, but they’d be both lying and in denial. Sad, because MK Ultra is such a fantastic song and indicative of what could have been. Instead, it’s Queen for those who hate Queen. Fail.

  22. MetalRod says:

I think the new album is great.

  23. twisted_freak says:

    NO Muse is good Muse.

  24. SourDeez says:

This is pretty funny, even though Iron Maiden did it first.

  25. akeldama says:

Hilarious. Good band, though not metal obviously, but a lot of fans of metal seem to appreciate their material.

And B-Dizzle…youre literally the only person ive ever heard talk shit on BTBAM so… what IS good, since muse and btbam suck?

  26. I never realized how out of touch “tr00 metalheads” are. They’re so busy suckling at the metal taint that they miss out on good quality music even within more mainstream genres. I’m embarrassed as not just a fan of metal, but a music fan in general. Fuck these posters (i.e. slaves who claim to be rebellious).

  27. Oasis already did it too

  28. The WZA'd says:

Oasis already did this, but what would Muse be if they weren’t treading familiar ground?

I almost laid the smackdown on a kid today when I heard him call muse the “Pink Floyd of our Generation.”

    • I agree with the comment that said they were Queen for people who don’t like Queen…I like Muse a lot but some of the moments on the new album are so ridiculously bad and ripped off it made me laugh out loud.

      And I hate Queen.

  29. It’s been funny. Still, Muse sucks, because Radiohead and Queen both sucks, and Muse = Radiohead + Queen = total suckiness.

  30. Aya says:

Muse are kinda like a stadium symphony rock band now, so the less of guitar might be a turn-off for some metal fans. They’re still okay though.

  31. Joe Soup says:

    HILARIOUS
These guys are having a hard time maintaining straight faces throughout the whole thing and mockingly acting like “look how cool we are” in hilarious fashion.

  32. afdaf says:

    Muse is a flaming piece
