Reader Greg Heerdt has helpfully pointed out that Amazon is now listing an October 20, 2009 release date for Anthrax’s Worship Music (or, at least, some import version of Worship Music - the previously announced European release date was October 23). I’ve reached out to the band’s label, Megaforce, to see if there’s any truth to the date or not…
…but I’m guessing not. Unless the ‘Thrax are gonna put out the album with now ex-vocalist Dan Nelson still on it – which I seriously doubt they will do. I just don’t see how they could have a) managed to officially lure back John Bush, b) have him re-record Nelson’s vox, c) keep it all a secret and therefore d) completely fail to promote the album less than a month before its (alleged) new release. And since we know that online outlets sometimes list non-existant release dates for reasons that I’m not entirely clear on, I’m gonna tell all Anthrax fans to keep their pants on for now.
I’ll let you know when/if we hear back from Megaforce on this.

I think this was the original release date before it got canned. I’m guessing Amazon never took the page down.

How can they give you an estimate when the band doesn’t know who the fucking singer is?
Not going to happen, although it would be fun to try and preorder it and see what shows up. Maybe if you pay that much Dan Nelson will come perform in your living room.
