This one’s an easy choice for me: the live version of “Touch Like Angel of Death” from Tokyo Warhearts cuz it’s Bodom playing Hans Zimmer’s fucking awesome score from The Rock!! Come on you can’t get much more badass than that! I mean you got whammy dive bombs, incrediblely nimble shredding, and dual guitar harmonies all to the sweet melody of the Rock. This solo is a V2 rocket of awesomeness.

My favorite Bodom solo is Needled 24/7, and it should be yours too. Why? Because the first time I heard it I got an erection so massive that it tore a hole in time and space that created an alternate universe. An alternate universe where Ted Nugent only plays music and never talks. An alternate universe where Cliff Burton is still alive and Metallica is still relevant. An alternate universe where Chris Farley is alive and the guys who made Vampires Suck/Date Movie/Epic Movie are raped on a daily basis by an incredibly large black man known only by the name of “Incredibly Large Black Man. Every time I hear this solo our world crosses into that one a little bit more, and isn’t that a world you want to live in?

The solo from “We’re Not Gonna Fall” cos I had a three-way with my mulatto girlfriend and her hot asian friend while listening to it. And plus the phrygian scale that he uses accents the suspended 4th chromatic butt chords on the offbeat of a triplet poly-rhythm while his 1982 Marshall Vintage Plexi Recto Twin Reverb 5150′d its way into a crazy overdrive mode with 60 tubes all blowing up at once to create a tone that Zeus once fought Odin for but lost, and then Odin traded it to a guy for a killer bubinga/maple/birch/steel/brass hybrid drumset, but then beat up the dude and took his 80 string bass and wrote some really killer records with it. Wait what was the question?

I really dig the two solos in “Lobodomy” from the Bloodrunk album, not because it’s their best, but of the memory associated with it.
A couple of months after the album came out I finally bought it and was spending the night listening to it with my headphones at my computer, while reading volumes of this Japanese comic called Devilman.
I was living with an ex-girlfriend(she really hated my taste in music, especially any metal) at the time, and she was spending the entire night just baking for this family/church gathering thingee the next day, a real “fun” event I was suppose to go to with her.
Anyway, eventually, I fell asleep at my computer, while the album was still playing in my headphones.
Early the next morning, my ex lifts a part of the headphones off my right ear, and says “Hey, are you still coming with me to church today?”
I’m still out of it, and while the solos in Lobodomy were about to play for the umpteenth time, all I can whisper out is “no.”
A little past noon rolls around, and my ex slams the door as she enters, angrily stares at me and asks me why I yelled nonesense at her that morning when she asked if I was going to join her.
Confused, I asked “What the hell are you talking about?”
Turns out I didn’t whisper no, I mumbled for a bit, then excitedly yelled Devilman!
I thought it was pretty funny.
She on the other didn’t, and I didn’t get laid or get to sample any of her baked goods for a few weeks after that.
I still laugh though every time I hear that song.

The solo in “Bloodrunk” reminds me of a time when I was young and always getting into trouble with my 3 friends. We used to make our way down to the railroad tracks after school and would throw rocks at homeless people from the top of the bridge. They could never climb the steep hill fast enough before we got away. One homeless guy tried but my friend hit him in the head with a nice sized rock, he fell backward down the hill. We saw him laying there bleeding and unconscious. I’m pretty sure he died now that I think about it. He must have been a good meal for all the other homeless people though. We did a good that day.

The Best solo is from “Silent Night, Bodom Night”. The very first song from CoB for me and it’s totally blew my mind. Like week after i went to a music shop to change my bass to guitar and played eversince.

I think my favourite is the solo in Triple Corpse Hammerblow. It basically describes my feelings towards many things without having to use words.

I would choose Living Dead Beat. It is the first song that I learned to play on keyboard. Also in 2009, I saw Children of Bodom play in Seattle at the Paramount Theatre and I was front row. During the song Alexi grabbed a bottle of water and spit it all over the crowd. Or, mostly me. It was the best concert I have ever been to.

I also plan on getting a tattoo on my side saying “Aint got time for the future or the past, live for the moment make it last!”

My favorite solo from a Bodom song has to be “Are you Dead Yet?” Simply cause of the deep impact that solo gave to me it was like the metal of the olden days of glory came back in the form of Alexi’s guitar

My favourite CoB solo is definately the solo from “Trashed, Lost & Strungout”! When I saw the video, my jaw dropped to the floor as I watched his fingers go at the speed of light over the fret board of his guitar.

At the first time I listened to it, my friend was with me. He then grabbed his guitar. Now, I have to say that he is very good at playing guitar, but he couldn’t keep up with Alexi. So in the end, he got so frustrated that he smashed his guitar down in the floor, breaking the fret board in half and smashing the body of the guitar, which by the way was a fine, and expensive, Gibson.

Funny thing is, he didn’t realise what was going on at the moment, so it was almost like he woke up from a dream after he had completely wrecked his Gibson, then he turned of the song and stormed out of the room, and went completely mental, screaming and everything!
Eventually, he calmed down. To this day I still mock him about it, asking if he wanna give it another shot, to which he often replies: “No, dude. I can’t afford so many guitars!”

Well.. My favorite solo is definatly from ” Sixpounder ” ( the second solo ) it’s sooo well written.. really melodic.. and yeah it just fits the song perfectly !

I would have to say that the solo(s) in “Triple Corpse Hammerblow” are my favorite. They go so well with the song and this particular song is one of my all time favorite songs period. The song makes the little hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I am a drummer (so by necessity and by judgements of other “musicians”) so apparently I am tone-deaf and/or have the IQ of doorknob. Seeing how musical appreciation is in the ear of the beholder, I question the judgement of tone-deafidness and would like to say that drummers are musicians too. I can appreciate an awesome solo and a well arranged piece of music with various instruments (synths, drums / percussion, guitars, and vocals). if awarded the guitar, I would endeavor to learn how to play it properly (instead of a few covers, etc.)

Bodom Beach Terror has the best solo. It’s perfectly constructed. From the riff leading up to it to the solo itself and the way he moves up the scale at the end, it builds up to a big creamy metal explosion in your mouth. I mean ears, I mean… Damn it.

well i have to say kissing the shadows, the solo there is a perfect combination of melody and technique, the solo starts agressive and cool and they switch back and forth between the keyboard and guitar. i would have to say, oops i did it again.
I mean to turn a pop song into something as epic as what C.O.B did. I remember the first time that i had heard this cover, we were in my cousins truck, going to guitar center, there were 3 people in the truck, my cousin, my best friend, and my cousin. All of us are huge C.O.B fans,and half way to guitar center my cousin started skipping songs on his cd, while asking us, if we liked brittany spears music. Now, i myself am not very fond of alot of her music, while my best friend was totally in love with almost every song she had made. Bodom Beach Terror was the first Bodom song I ever listened to and it contains my favorite solo. Mindblowing guitar work build up to the final chorus. I only wish I could play as fast or as accurate as Alexi. I’ve started learning the Bodom Beach Terror song, yet it will take a while to get down.

Mine is from Kissing the shadows. I remember when I was at Sziget this year while they were playing this song everybody was going crazy but when they cranked up the solo, it was so awesome that everybody fell silent and watched in awe XD

This is the toughest decision since choosing between Jack Daniel’s Whiskey or Grey Goose Vodka the other night but I’d have to say Angels Don’t Kill…. Killer solo with speed and soul. Alexi really makes his guitar sing in this song. The unity between the guitar and keyboards is mesmerizing.

Well the other night me and my bro was sitting on my porch I was stuming my guitar, listening to some Children of Bodom as you do in england lol.
When All of a sudden “Looking at my back door” came on, i couldn’t belive my ears COB playing Creedence Clearwater Revival in england our closest thing to that was the wurrzells(carrot crunching time, Drink up the Cider). Couldn’t belive it Alexi doing banjo rolls etc blew me away. So i thought, I know i can play that, sounds easy. I have seen Children of Boodm live @ Summerbreeze this year and I have to say in my opinion the best solo is the one in “Living Dead Beat” because Alexi let it looks soo easy to play, it has a very impressive nature and it fits perfectly in the song.

I would go with “Are You Dead Yet” solo. Its heavy, it fits and its awesome. It doesnt sound like the whole calculator things in other solos, where you are hit by five milion notes per second and you dont even know what the hell is going on. Im not saying other solos are bad. Its just about the simplicity and the fitting into the whole songs feeling. Or something.

I would kill to play the Bodom Beach Terror dvd. Then it came to me. I gathered my candles, went to the nearest field and slaughters a lamb, dragging its corpse in to my attic i harvested its blood and drew a pentagram on my attic floor. Lighting the candles around me i slowly undressed my self before kneeling down in the center of the pentagram. for days on end i sat naked in starvation chanting to Satan for he would grant me the power. The solo from song ”Bodom after midnight” after 2 minutes. I feel always a bit strange when I hear that because it’s sounds a bit like the theme from a movie called “the Rock”. Also the solo from song “the Nail” after 3:58 solo is quite funny. I was humming that solo some time ago when I was visiting home and my mom ask in which lullaby that was. I find that insult quite funny :D. As many true fans had already noticed these solos was mostly keyboard solos. So to my favorite cob guitar solo. That from the song “Kissing the Shadows” after 2:53. That’s very long solo and it also carries the melody all the way. What is cool in this solo as in many other cob songs is that guitar and keyboard alternates with each other’s carrying the melody. So as I mentioned earlier that keyboard may sound sometimes a bit funny to hear in heavy metal song, but when Aleksi Laiho plays guitar with the keyboard, it also makes the keyboard sound cool not to mention the GUITAR itself.

The speed, legnth, and 80′s feel mixed with thier classic style set it apart from the rest for me. It fits seamlessly with the rest of the song. Alexi’s use of the entire fretboard for the solo, while composing several distinct solos within a solo make it the best~!

Favorite solo is definatly everytime I die. I introduced myself to Alexi at a show in Philadelphia about a year and a half ago. I told him evertime I die has some killer leads and he said to me “yea I know”. Then he pounded a Jack and coke and played a sick show.

can’t really choose one out of solos, like them all, but mostly the hate me’s solos are closest to my heart. both solos are clean, the sounds are cleany separated from each other. this makes them really hard to copy, i mean unique. it’s really melodic, i love when i hear this, i can play it several times without any break, all day long. sorry for my bad english, hope you will understand what i meant to say. :)

I remember the first time I heard Trashed, Lost & Strungout. It was when I borrowed my friends ipod one day when we were training boxing. The intro to this song is very heavy and very how should i put it, “adrenalineful”. I got such a great kick out of the intro that I ended up hiting my friends head when we were only suppose to hit on the other persons gloves.. fucking great that was! He got really dizy and he almost puked. Then afterwards he asked me about it and I told him about the song and we ended up talking about how awesome it was! :D

I love all bodom songs, but if I had to pick one it would be Triple corpse Hammerblow!! In one word simply “ORGASMIC.” Scream guitar, can’t get any better!!

The best solo for me is Follow the Reaper ! There’ speed, melody, and it fits perfectly with the rest of the song, like all of other solos. Alexi is one of the most talented guitarists if you ask me ! Too bad i’m not from Finland.

I think i have no favourite between Sixpounder, Kissing the Shadows, Triple Corpse Hammerblow and Needled 24/7, but needled 24/7 is pretty good because it reminds me of when i was snowboarding listening to it, and the solo started and i tried to go even faster, i was going at what seemed 200miles per hour (i wish), and there was a cross between my hill and another one, and to avoid to hit another guy i made a crazy turn i almost crashed myself, i was totally unbalanced but just kept going at full speed listening to the solo, luckily i got myself over control again right when the solo ended and pulled through, i managed to the end of the track, when the song ended i got to the final stop and i was full of goosebumps, totally rocked, i never did that track again just to keep the nice memory (and not crash myself because listening to CoB and doing snowboard makes me go at kamikaze speeds).

When I started to play guitar my main type of musioc that listened to was rock. Really any type of rock. I listened to a lot of mainstream stuff, especially the ones that was playing on the radio. I probally was even slowly moving towards listening to more and more rap and hip-hop. I felt boxed in listening to the music that I was listening to.

I remember that one day a friend asked me to come play basketball. We were picking people up and trying to get to whatever place when he asked me if it was OK to listen to System. Now I knew a little of them.

Needless to say I went home and went to youtube looking for more metal to listen to. The first one that came up that I really liked (or at least that I remember) was Children of Bodom’s Silent Night, Bodom Night. This song has made me love Children of Bodom and more curious about the metal scene.

Now I have have been listening to COB for almost four years now.

This solo keeps reminding me that you don’t have to posses superior guitar skills to make an awesome solo, you need passion.

Were not gonna fall!! This songs solo is amazing!! Ive lost count on how many times ive almost died in a moshpit while this song was playing!

My favourite CoB solo is definitely the one at the end of Are You Dead Yet?, because even though it’s wanky… everything about it is perfect. He plays the wrong notes at the right times… there’s just something about it. The whole song is amazing and it just caps everything off perfectly at the climax of the track.

But the real reason it holds a special place in my heart, is because it reminds me of this guy I always used to walk home from high school with. We were both big CoB fans and this was just after the album had come out, so I was listening to it on repeat constantly. Anyway one day we were walking home and I was listening to Bodom in one ear and talking to my friends at the same time. There was this creek we had to jump over every day (or else take the long way around) and the water level got really high after it rained. This was one such day, but going the long way wasn’t an option so we just sucked it up and jumped across through the mud. There were two girls behind us on the path though, and they were just standing there at the edge of the water because it was too far for them to jump and they didn’t want to get wet. So being the kind gentleman he was, my friend told them to wait, and picked up a huge log under the pretenses of putting it down across the stream so they could walk across. As he walked towards them the look of gratitude on their faces made me wish I had thought of doing something so sweet…

But then he let out a RIDICULOUSLY LOUD battle cry, charged towards the river, and threw this huge fucking log caber toss-style into the water with as much force as he could. It made a HUGE splash and seriously soaked the girls from head to toe. Then he yelled “A-HA! SUCK ON THAT, BITCHES!” and ran away.

It was quite honestly the best thing I’d ever seen in my life, and every time I listen to Bodom I think about it.

And that, my fellow Metal Sucks nerds, is a true story.

Was giving my mum a rude to the airport in the car, she had fallen asleep on the way there. I decided to turn on the radio which instantly started to play my favourite songs solo beginning “follow the reaper” the stereo was nearly on full crank when it came on, she woke up screaming, noticed what happened and like a Greek lady she is she started bitchslappimg me , while the whole time I was cracking up.

My favorite solo is Kissing the shadows, because it’s very nice song and the solo is very fast, melodic and unbelievable. I have been playing the guitar for three years, but I haven’t learnt this solo because it’s so fast and hard to learn, but it’s very beautiful solo and I like it very much.

Definitely “Done With Everything, Die For Nothing” because my kids won’t go to elementary school without rocking out air guitar style to that solo EVERY morning!!

Living Dead Beat’s solos are fuckin amazing. It’s so perfect that it takes me like 10 minutes to finish listening to the song kuz i keep rewinding it to the heavy part before the beginning of the first solo.

Living Dead Beat is the best one from COB!!! My friends and I finish our partys with a heavy metal mosh pit that includes Cowboys From Hell and Living Dead Beat. The next morning our throats are wasted and our necks hurt for the whiplash but it´s the best way to end up with the heavy metal party!!

Bodom will always have a special place in my heart because I had just gotten a new cat the day before I last saw them. I was worried that this new cat was at home fucking up all my shit, so I actually left early and sure enough, the cat had fucked up a bunch of my shit. I like to think the cat was channeling Alexi that night because Alexi was out of control at this show and must have set some kind of world record for saying “fuck” the most times in a single night. I nicknamed the cat “Wildchild” after Alexi because of all of this…

I’ll say my favorite solo is “In Your Face”. I know it was a single and it’s not on Something Wild, so its probably not a “cool choice”, but guess what? Like Alexi, in this instance “I DON”T GIVE A FLYING FUCK MOTHERFUCKER”.

The solo is really short, but it’s like the guitar version of the I don’t give a flying fuck chorus. You’re watching Headbangers Ball with your friends and that mutated 14 year old Jasta introduces the new Bodom video to you. They are just playing along, playing this totally catchy song with some Ozzfest worthy lyrics and you are thinking “WTF?” and then BAM! Alexi is like “I don’t give a flying fuck, I’ll shred for 10 seconds in the middle of this song”, throws his guitar up and melts your face . What makes it even better? The keyboards come in over that last bend telling you that the keyboards really don’t give a flying fuck either.

Is it possible to pick the best guitar solo from Alexi Laiho? I mean, fuck. Squizgar Skwigelf (the greatest guitarist in the universe) from Metalocalypse was modeled after him. That just shows how badass he is.

My favorite song is Are You Dead Yet? It’s the song that originally got me into Bodom and I just love the guitar in it. It may not be the most complicated guitar playing, but it still sounds awesome. I also loved Alexi Laiho’s guitar training video. He had some badass guitar solos in there as well.

Warheart because when I was in junior high me and two of my classmates were trying to learn it ( guitar, drums, and me on bass). One day after school we invited some girls over because we wanted to see what they thought since we were practicing for the junior high talent show. At first we were just jamming out and then we tried doing Warheart. They were sitting across from us on one of those weird kitchen table bench seats. As soon as the bass and everything was blasting the whole house was shaking including the bench and we could see this look of excitement mixed with pleasure just break out into one of their faces. So even though we did a shit job playing it whenever I hear the Warheart solo or song I think back to me and my friends and how we got a girl off by playing it.(we were all in ninth grade btw and that is junior high for where we lived)

My favourite solo is the one in ‘In Your Face’. I tried to use the riff as an alarm clock when me and my mates were camping but the string snapped while I was playing it. So I woke them up with a ‘Bitch-slap in your face!’.

Most of COB’s songs are really good but some are better anyway. I prefer Downfall, Angels Don’t Kill, Are You Dead Yet ? , Silent Night Bodom Night, Bodom Beach Terror, Sixpounder, Needled 24/7, Touch Like An Angel Of Death, Living Dead Beat, or Black Widow or whatever ^^
I think each song which refers to the lake Bodom belong to the best songs. I love to play Silent Night Bodom Night it’s quite quick but not so hard so it’s easier for guitar players who are not God of Guitar like Alexi is :p
But especially I think Bodom Beach Terror’s solo is amazing. First of all the pre-solo riff is unbelievable. and then the solo mix so different playing technics that it’s very impressive ! I notice the slides part which is really hard to make it sound good !
The really especial thing with COB’s solo – they are really fast it’s a fact – but each note sound good and you think that no one else could be here instead. That’s a rare thing in other band’s fast solo. With COB’s solo you fell each note is at its own place. I think it’s the most impressive talent Alexi has. Of course he is an extraordinary Guitar Hero, he’s able to sing while playing riffs or solos, but I think the way he is able to write solos is really the most impressive of his talents.
I hope I’ll see the band soon in France, where I live.
Last April I planed a trip to Finland in order to see COB playing in his own country but because of the volcanic eruption I had to cancel the trip and I missed the concert so I was really really disapointed ! Next time I hope more luck ! :p

My favorite guitar solo is definitely from Clash of the Blues Brothers from Stockholm Knockout Live, disc 2. I was listening to the album right before my behind the wheel driver’s test and forgot to shut it off before turning off my car. When the instructor told me to turn on the ignition, the guitar riffs immediately started blaring out at max volume! When I reached for the knob to turn it off the instructor stopped me and said “Hatecrew wouldn’t turn that down.” So with the amazing solos of the guitar and the keyboard blasting I completed my driver’s test with probably the most badass DMV worker in the world.

The best solo ever, is the solo in Hate Crew Deathroll! It’s so powerfull and agressive that i jizz in my pants. HATE CREW !!!!! \m/

Kissing the Shadows. I had been soiling my pants throughout the course of the solo and didn’t realize it until after the boomy synth at the end brought me back to Earth. The pair of underwear I was wearing at the time now hangs on my wall to remind me every day of the effect a great guitar solo can have on the soul.

Red Light in my eyes (part2) is the best song of COB! I think I’d kill my own father to play this song on that guitar! I practiced this song for maybe 300 hours and I’m still convinced it will sound better with that axe. If I do not win this I’ll put don’t my guitar and start listening to my chemical romance (which would mean imminent suicide)… please save my life MetalSucks!

I can’t listen to or play my original favorite solo anymore because of a traumatic incident that i swore never to talk about, but screw it-I’m not gonna lie that scythe would help me out a lot.

I was playing at some small club in a pretty rural area around here. They have live music on saturdays and a bunch of bands regularly play there.
Typical ” I’m better” type musicians of many genres.
The band that went on before us was an old school thrash metal band, which i automatically respected. They played two songs:
Seek and Destroy and Rust in Peace.They unfortunately had trouble with the latter song and royally fucked it up.
The drummer had problems with the tempo and time signature and that just created complete chaos. it was painful to hear but the audience was nice
about it and clapped anyway. I admit i chuckled a bit. I Hadn’t messed up too badly on stage since i was 16 years old, and that was only in front of about 20 strangers.

Well, we were up next and we killed our first song as usual,( i don’t want to jinx myself so i will call it blaster of muppets).

Then came our next song.

oh boy.

Apparently, in my haste, i had forgotten to tune my second guitar to the proper tuning of Black Widow. What followed was to be the worst four minutes of my entire life.
Immediately it was apparent i was disgustingly out of tune with my entire band, but we didn’t stop to fix it.
why the hell not? I will never know. All i could do was keep playing and just shaking my head with a terrible blank look on my face that looked as if i had just heard my family had died, but no , it was just us dying up there.
When we sing the vocals i usually do the higher screaming and the
bass player does the lower screaming just for convenience and ease. He didn’t sing a word. I don’t blame him at all.
If you thought it couldn’t get any worse than playing Black Widow very loudly and completely out of key,then you were wrong.
I do not know what god i pissed off or what devil I infuriated, but something possessed me to start singing both high and low parts myself, thus adding to the seemingly endless cycle of terrible music playing. Christ, it was awful.
Apparently my vocals sound a billion times worse when I’m out of key with the rest of the band. Who knew? Not to mention singing both parts myself just sounded like a bad joke.
A bad joke.
Thats when i got the worst idea ever to enter my mind. I was about two minutes in when i pulled a Rosanne Barr and decided to turn my crappy
music attempt into a ” ha-ha just kidding its all a joke” performance.
I started singing in falsetto pretending to be playing badly on purpose, hoping to
sway the audience’s opinions of us and to hopefully keep getting booked there.This entire hodgepodge of misfortune all happened within about 4 minutes or so by the way.
It seemed like 4 hours and 4seconds all at once. My mistake was that no one bought it, and instead of making them sympathize as they did with the previous band that went before us it only disgusted them. The bass player walked off the stage and i knew it was all over.
The terrible embarrassment had ended and everything was dead silent except the one guy in the audience who felt our pain. He was clapping and giving us the
” yeah, way to go!” in complete earnestness, which only served to burn my soul all the more. I managed to squeak out a ” check out our myspace” and we got the hell out of there as soon as we packed our stuff. We haven’t shown our faces in that area since.

so yeah, follow the reaper for life.

Angel’s Don’t Kill would be the song that contains my favorite solo, or…solos. The reason being: You see…it all started when my band, Death’s Embrace….(Shameless plug) was in Cleveland, opening for SPinal T ap. What we didnt know was that we found the band lost in the back somewhere from 20+ years ago, and…the guys we were opening for were Space Aliens sent her to kill all the cows on the planet, all the while…cornering the market on seafodd so that Musilims could control half the stock in the planet. This falied miserably due to the phrygian harmonics and broken arpeggios used within the song, “Angel’s Dont Kill”…the cows were freed, and…in doing so, the guys from SPinal Tap allowed us to play the Headlinging spot where just played Old McDonald had a farm on the hamronica. Place erupted. Nuff said. This story brought to you by Guinness.

My favorite solo is from Living Dead Beat because i saw you guys at the Starland Ballroom and it was the most intense show Ive ever seen, and because of that show i got the girl i was with to be my girlfriend because she liked how i moshed the shit out of people and how i also look identical to Alexi, so Living Dead Beat has my favorite solo because it was that song that was playing which lead to my relationship which has lead to countless other amazing memories, we plan on seeing you guys on your tour with Black Label soon! Without Children of Bodom i would not be a happy camper so pick me to win because i didn’t win the last contest and dammit to hell i need a fucking pick me up. METAL!

Follow the reaper was the very first CoB song that I’ve ever listened too. That solo was the greatest thing I’ve heard. Children of Bodom were the ones that got me into metal.

Hands down the solo in the remake of “Oops, I did it again”.

In fact while I was typing this, Alexi knocked on my door. I answered and he was wearing a while lace see through dress. He then dropped his cigarette lighter and bent over in front of me purposely, exposing his genitals and said “You know liked it”

Need I say more?

I’d say the solo of “If you want peace… prepare for war”. One of my mates, who plays drums, got cocky while he and his band partners were at the studio room, because he had been practicing guitar with his uncle and wanted everybody how good he was. So, the rythm guitarist dared him to play that solo. At the third attempt, all of a sudden, one of the strings broke (which was a same, because he getting it). The crazy thing is that he freaked out so much, he screamed some crap and drop the guitar accidentaly. The owner of the axe got so mad, he almost punch the poor guy. I can barely listen to the song without laughing, his face like: “aw crap, is that my bro’s guitar on the floor”, was really etched on my memory.

CoB gave me metal and laughs, they are almost better than beer haha

I like Trashed, Lost & Strungout, because it gets my dick hard.

sixpounder is would have to be my favourite solo, but i can only play it at a slow mo speed at the moment hahaha, i mean when you play COB songs, *your playin, your playin* them BAM!!! the solo hits you and your just like wtf???? how the hell does he do that, are his fingers on steroids or somthing??. Smile Pretty for the Devil has the best solo by far. the solo has everything. the crazy bending blues lick at the start an insane shred part in the middle ending with a bang with the huge sweep picking and finger tapping apreggio. my favourite bodom song and favourite solo!

I learned that song from a tab and because I had no idea how to tune the guitar in D it sounded awful, and one friend say to me “remember me that you just will be a groupie on my band” since that day all my friends think that I suck playing guitar.

Yeah maybe they’re right but if I win I will have the guitar of one of my favourite guitar players

Man, honestly the 1st time I heard the Lake Bodom guitar solo, I literally went from 6 to midnight in the middle of class. It was the best solo I’ve ever heard, and I STILL get a woody when I hear it. Seriously, if you don’t want to see this guy walkin’ around with a stiff stick, you keep that song OFF! I’m gettin’ a little excited just talking about, this comment needs to end now before unleash some baby gravy in my brand new sponge bob underwear.

My favourite Bodom solo is Bodom after Midnight, not only because its amazing and badass, but because I climaxed my first time as soon as the guitar solo started. I remember her moaning to the tune of the chorus, and then it just got more heated as it kept going and going. And as we both finished I remember yelling at the top of my lungs,” BODOM AFTER MIDNIGHT YEAAAH!” and the look on her face just said, “boys…” but the mood was killed as my ipod shuffled to Lamb of God. Not that Lamb of God is bad, but it was one of those slow acoustic openings like “reclamation.” Like I love banging to the sound of the tides and acoustic guitars *sarcasm* But Id like to thank Alexi for giving me the best sex of my life, and Id like to thank that girl for letting me put my ipod on for once.

Downfall, That solo is like some subliminal magnet to get girls!!!

Let me straight with you: I’m only in this contest to win the kick ass guitar. While I am an avid reader of your site I couldn’t name a Children of Bodom song if it fell out of the sky and hit me in the face. I’m more of a hair metal fan who is proud to say it. While COB have great riffs, and solos, bands like King Kobra, KIX, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and Black N Blue are played constantly in my car, on my computer and cd player. I loved your hair metal week awhile back and I look forward to the next installment!

Nonetheless, I wandered over to COB’s myspace page, and gave an honest listen to their audio player. After careful deliberation of which song would sound good within the context of a Danger Danger song, I think that honor has to go to Blooddrunk. The subtleties of the keyboards that both bands exhibit, brings forth the brutal contrast of the guitars. In short the solo kicks ass! Alexi Laiho definitely shreds a killer axe!
