NEW CAVE IN: SING UR NUTZ OFF TO ‘SING MY LOVES’

Thursday, April 21st, 2011 at 10:40am by

Cave In has built a rich legacy on sprawling, spacey epics, from the dark and tingly “The End Of Our Rope Is A Noose” (from Until Your Heart Stops, 1997) and “Requiem” (Jupiter, 1999) to GJOATs “Seafrost” (Antenna, 2003) and “Paranormal” (Perfect Pitch Black, 2005). It’s their supreme bragging right, a show of unflinching skill, and the extra-special chestnut that awaits each horny Cave In listener at new album time. As it pertains to now, new album time is May 24 but for today, from White Silence comes “Sing My Loves,” the latest and maybe the most wetly anticipated Cave In epic yet. I won’t oversell it but let me say that it’s better than every other song on Earth put together. Oh hey there it is right down there. Click play and hold onto your nutz/nipz!

Cave In’s White Silence is out May 24 on Hydra Head. Pre-order the shit out of it here.

This album is going to destroy. The first half of this track is all Neurosis, and the second half is bliss. Cave In is all kinds of awesome.

This. Precisely. Just supplanted Pig Destroyer for me in the “most anticipated” category.

Definitely. I started listening and was like woah, Neurosis?

Just starting off I would suggest Jupiter or Antenna. They are definitely their more accessible albums, but Until Your Heart Stops probably finds them at their heaviest if you want to start there. There really is no bad album to listen to actually.

I would start with either Until Your Heart Stops or Jupiter. I don’t really care for Antenna or Perfect Pitch Black, although they do have their moments. One of my all time favorite songs by them is Luminance off of the Creative Eclipses EP. Beyond Hypothermia is their heaviest and doesn’t have the spacey feel that is present in most of their catalog. The lineup changed to its current composition starting with Until Your Heart Stops and their sound has been evolving ever since then. Also, the Planets of Old EP that came out last year is outstanding.

I highly recommend their Tides of Tomorrow EP. A little more chilled out..but it’s fucking great.

Man, that wasn’t too bad. I didn’t know MetalSucks posted info on music that didn’t completely eat shit. Way to go, turd swallowers.

Definitely feeling this, Cave-In make you wait forever to put an album out but when they do, they don’t disappoint. I found a decent live version of Summit Fever off this album, they cymbals are cutting through everything but the sound quality is still pretty decent.
