Nero Di Marte’s self-titled Prosthetic Records debut was Vince’s selection for album that will fuck your off in 2013… and that was before the band had released any full songs from the album. (Vince has been championing this band since 2011!) Now that they have released a full song, “Convergence,” I think we can all agree that the record will, indeed, fuck off many a face when it’s released next month.
Vince described the band’s sound as “The Ocean, Gojira, Burst and Memfis in equal measures,” which is neither bullshit nor small praise. “Convergence” is atmospheric, moody, melodic, techy, proggy, chunky, and experimental, in all the best possible senses of those words. Or, more simply: it’s six-and-a-half minutes long, and I just listened to it four times in a row.
If you like those other aforementioned bands, it’s impossible for me to believe you’re not gonna fall in love with Nero Di Marte. So do yourself a favor and listen to “Convergence” right now.
But wait! There’s more! The very generous folks at Prosthetic Records are also graciously offering a special deal to MetalSucks readers: use the code “MetalSucks” when you pre-order a Nero Di Marte CD, shirt, or CD/shirt bundle from the label’s webstore, and you’ll get a 10% discount! How sweet is that? The offer is good through the album’s March 19 release date. Click on this link to take advantage!
