Blind Sound Test: Can You Tell the Difference Between Real Amps and AxeFx?

 It would appear that the most recent video from  Spectre Sound Studios‘ Glenn Fricker, about the evils of auto-tune, caused quite a stir — I guess we’ve become so inundated with the abuse of that particular technology that for one to even dare to suggest we do away with it is some unthinkable sin.

So I can only imagine the shit storm sure to be shat as a result this new video Fricker made in association with Gear Gods: a “double blind shootout” comparing real tube amps with AxeFXII. I honestly can’t tell the difference in these examples, and even Fricker, allegedly a Luddite and most certainly a purist, admits that AxeFXII comes out looking pretty good. But again, the fact that he even deigns to suggest that the old technology might be better than the new technology will get some of you riled up.
