A Wonderfully Proggy New Jam from Intervals

0

Intervals - The Shape of ColourYeesh, these new Intervals tracks are the hotness! This band has come a long in the two years since the release of A Voice Within, at which time I declared them “the Human Abstract for the new age.” Now Intervals just sound like Intervals; still instrumental, that hasn’t changed, and still super proggy — always will be — but now they’ve got a certain finesse about them that displays how they’ve matured as musicians and people.

The appeal of this kind of music will always have its limits to a certain sect of metal fan, but if you dig proggy, instrumental bands of all kinds — from Scale the Summit to Cloudkicker to Animals as Leaders, etc (not that Intervals sound quite like any of those) — you’ll really love what they’re doing.

Here’s a new track called “Fable” that features Leland Whitty of BADBADNOTGOOD, along with a previously released track called “I’m Awake.” New album The Shape of Colour comes out December 4th. Pre-order here.
