Chelsea Wolfe: New Album Announced, New Song Released, New Tour Dates Announced!

Any of you idiots who bitch about MetalSucks covering Chelsea Wolfe due to her alleged lack of heaviness needs to listen to Ms. Wolfe’s new song, “16 Psyche.” It may be the most overtly-metal song she’s ever released; sure, it’s got melody, but if it were a Queens of the Stone Age song no one would bat an eye. In fact, QOTSA/A Perfect Circle guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen provided “prominent guitar contributions” to the record, according to a press release. And as if that wasn’t enough, it was recorded by Kurt friggin’ Ballou, whose metal cred is never, ever in question.

Everyone who doesn’t bitch about us covering Chelsea Wolfe should check out the song, too, because it rules.

See? Toldja!

The track is the first single from Wolfe’s new album, Hiss Spun, which is set to drop September 22 on Sargent House. In addition to Van Leeuwen’s contributions, the record features a guest spot from Aaron Turner of Isis, Sumac, and Old Man Gloom fame. You can pre-order it here (physical) or here (digital). Unsurprisingly, Wolfe will be hitting the road that same month; you can get her tour dates below. Youth Code, another project whose extreme metal bona fides are not at all in question, will provide support! So yeah these shows will be rad. Don’t miss ’em.
